I had my 38 week midwife appointment this afternoon at 38+4 and she said baby was engaged, their head deep in my pelvis (I was told baby had engaged at 36+4 also).
When measuring the bump it was measuring 38cm at 36+4 but today has stayed static and measured 38.2cm, going from 95th percentile to 60th I think she said. Midwife didn’t seem overly concerned and believed other symptoms suggested my body was getting ready for early labour and this may just be due to him moving down.
I’ve been referred for a scan at 5pm today, has anybody else had something similar? Did it result in a change to your birth plan at this stage?

Bump measurements aren’t worth the paper they’re written on but if baby has engaged it’ll also reduce the measurement as baby has changed positions. Growth scans once baby is engaged in the pelvis aren’t particularly accurate either because the head is virtually impossible to measure x

I had exactly the same thing happen to me, baby has been head down since 25w they thought early labour, different midwives gave me different measurements, suspected 'static growth' so sent for ultrasound.. baby is totally fine and i'm now 39w 1d just waiting on baby to make their arrival 🤭
I wouldn't worry yourself, even the ultrasound measurements arent 100% accurate 💜

I had the same thing last week, it was because his head had moved further down so he was measuring fine x

I was told my baby was on the 30th percentile and she was born on the 7th percentile

Thanks all - Scan seems all fine, he’s measuring at 50th percentile and head deep in the pelvis. Just wait and see now! X

I had the same 2 weeks ago... had growth scan on the Sunday said baby was measuring in to be 6lb 1oz... i went into labout at my pre op appointment 3 days later baby weighs 8lb 10oz... was measuring big all through pregnancy but the last measurement put me in 50th percentile from 95th.. just comes to show none of the measurements are really accurate.
Hello
I’m 36+2 and I’m officially over the midwife care I have received, I’ve been dismissed multiple times on different subjects by multiple midwife’s in my community midwife team , I’ve not seen one consistently it’s been a group of 4 of them , I get told “ we will talk about that at the next appointment “ only to have somone else and it not be discussed & for my last 2 appointments I’ve been sent to maternity assessment .
I also asked not to see one of the midwives again and I was told it’s not possible and can’t garuntee it .
It’s causing me more stress now than anything is anyone else in the same boat ? Can I refuse maternity care going forward ?
I’m happy to go to maternity assessment if needed but I can’t with the community midwives anymore .

Hey guys, so I thought I was 6 weeks pregnant yesterday so I had booked myself in for a pregnancy confirmation scan. I had the expectation to see a yolk sac and possibly a faint heartbeat however when the midwife first looked it was an empty sac no yolk in sight. She did manage to find tiny thing she said she thinks is the yolk sac and marked me down as 5 weeks but would like to see me two days again to see if the yolk sac has developed. It has sent me into a slight spiral that there’s nothing there. It’s my first pregnancy and I am overthinking everything! I was a bit disappointed to not be as far as I thought I was. Has anyone else had a similar experience? Was everything ok in the end? I’ve attached the scan image.

Hello - looking for some advice please. I was booked in for an induction earlier this week and have been advised the labour ward is so busy that it’s actually closed for new admissions right now until further notice. Has anyone experienced this as well?
I’ve been told it can change quickly but my anxiety is increasing given I was being induced for medical reasons but equally understand pressures on the system right now so feel I can’t challenge it.
Any advice welcome.

Hey lovelies,
So for the past 2 days I’ve been having constant pain especially when waking up or getting out of bed to go pee at night all around my hips, if I mention it to my doctor all she says it’s normal since the baby’s Head is now further down ((currently at 37 weeks and 4 days)). And also when I go sit on the toilet to pee I get this period like tightness in my lower abdomen.
Any advices?

Hi I’m 7 weeks pp after an emergency category 1 section under general anaesthetic, because of this I feel I missed the crucial first few hours of my little man’s life and feel robbed of the first cuddle and here is your baby moment, as I wasn’t back conscious until he was 2 hours old. , has anyone else experienced this? Everyone keeps telling me they’ve never heard of a section done under GA and I feel alone in it with no one to talk to.
