i feel so alone in this feeling but my son doesn't care for his dad at all. Dad can be gone all day and it's just me and my son and then as soon as he gets home my son gets extra clingy to me and wants nothing to do with dad. He doesn't want to go to him ever!! i just want a minute to be able to sit on the couch or zone out but my son will just cry and cry until i'm back and i'm the one playing with him.

Have you tried going into another room? Both my kids default to me when I'm around, but will happily play with daddy if they don't see me. My oldest will occasionally seek me out, but the 2025 baby just plays until she sees me.

We used to have this problem. Our daughter wanted nothing to do with my husband most days.
It's peak separation anxiety time at this age, but one of the things that helped for us was that I actually had to leave the house.
This meant I wasn't around at all so baby can't go find me and it meant that I wasn't there to feel the need to take over.
They can figure it out themselves.
Even now sometimes our daughter will tell my husband that she needs mommy, but it's gotten loads better.
Have you ever left your husband and son alone just them?

My son definitely picks me as a default parent. But, we are working on it. With high value things ie food, treats, sippy, DaDa will also have a hand in feeding, so he gets excited to see dad too.

My son will say dada all day but when it comes to holding him he always picks me it's so funny but honestly he only says mama if he's upset.
Need advice on what to do with this situation… I really regret my 18 month olds name and have done for a while. When he was around 6 months this feeling started and at around 8 months I discussed it with my husband and he said he wasn’t that keen on the name on the first place but he just came round to it because I really liked it. He said well that is his name now he responds to it etc and everyone knows his name so I thought we’ll just leave it now and maybe this feeling will go away I thought it could also be post partum related. Fast forward a year I still don’t like it and I cringe when I call him or anyone else says it and I wish I would’ve persuaded my husband to change it back then (I think he would’ve eventually) it would’ve been so simple then to just amend his birth certificate as he was under 1 and looking back he was still really young for people to get used to the change now it’s a case of changing by deed poll and he seems too old now. Has anyone else been through this? What do I do?

My baby is almost 11 months old and it’s still such a battle to get him to eat food. I’ve tried purées and & finger foods.
I don’t see how he’s going to drop his formula at 12 months if he’s not eating solids?
Is this something is should chat to the gp about? He often cries and has a tantrum everytime he’s offered food

I’ve lost my lid today, please tell me I’m well positioned to do so…
My 9 month old started nursery and as part of his lunch he was served pesto and spinach pasta (fine!) which he managed well as I have been doing a combination of BLW and textured puréed food…
Then it said he had rocky road (all).
I queried this whether it was an automatic entry because that was the lunch provided for the day, to be told he had some rocky road whilst being supervised.
He’s 9 months old, has had no refined sugar in his diet in line with NHS and early years guidance, he’s certainly not had marshmallows, chocolate (sugar and caffeine content) and biscuit/whole nuts.
On what fucking planet is this an age appropriate meal?
I’m devastated as I was feeling anxious about handing over the care of my son for a day and half a week as it is but now this has shattered trust.
In addition, the initial response was that I hadn’t told them Noah wasn’t eating anything with refined sugar content at home when I inducted him…
Am I missing something? Should my child be battling choking hazards, consuming refined sugar when he’s only just cut two teeth and consuming caffeine?
No hate to anyone who makes any other decisions but this has really rattled me. Surely it’s not a “standard?’’

I can’t wrap my head around it maybe I don’t want to believe it I just I don’t know if I’m crazy or not.
My toddler is 4 years she started reception this September. She’s an only child and it’s her first school setting full. She’s always been home with me since birth. She’s never been away from me 5 days a week 8 hours a day. She started full time with no transition.
For 6 weeks I thought she was getting on fine because she’s always happy to go to school she always cries because she’s wants me to take her to school!
At drop off and pick ups I’ve seen her teacher teaching assistants and the primary school supervisor at the gates and in all these times they’ve never pull me aside or made me aware of anything on a few occasions the teaching assistants would tell me she had a wonderful day.
My toddler is very emotional in the sense she gets upset quickly if she doesn’t want to do something or she’s being told no. She’ll get fussy teary but that’s about it. Either she settles or she moves on with another activity.
Now school has told me that ever since she started up to now October 22nd she’s been very aggressive with the adults at school. I mean they said they’ve reported 17 incidents and I haven’t be made aware of none of them from the onset. Apparently she kicks the adults the slaps the teacher in the face she hits the dinner staff and they are concerned?
I’ve never seen such behaviour at home or at soft plays of at local parks. I’ve seen the staff all this time and nobody has even told me anything from the first incident. At least after the 5th or 10th at most I should have been made aware if it was that concerning? Why wait till 17 and corner and force me into believing this?
I have a hard time to believe it because she’s not aggressive at home or at school. She loves going to school. Teacher said she doesn’t hit the children but apparently she hits a big grown adult?
I don’t know if I’m crazy but there’s just too much not adding up and I have a hard time to believe my child is doing this to adults for the past 6 weeks. They are forcing me into referral and things and not even explaining properly what the referral entails just we need your consent we need your consent.
Am I overreacting? Am I crazy having a hard time to believe it?
Apparently in football club she had such a bad reaction the club staff wanted to call me to pick her up and guess what nobody called me on that day and when I picked up her the staff smiled at me and didn’t inform me if it was really bad wouldn’t they have said at least a word??
It’s my first time dealing with a school and it’s now adding me stress on top of my work.
