My baby is almost 11 months old and it’s still such a battle to get him to eat food. I’ve tried purées and & finger foods.
I don’t see how he’s going to drop his formula at 12 months if he’s not eating solids?
Is this something is should chat to the gp about? He often cries and has a tantrum everytime he’s offered food

Dont put any pressure on eating at first its all new alot of the time if you let them be with the food and you just eat your own they start to mess with it and eventually put it in there mouths its very messy to start

Is he mouthing other objects? Or does he not like putting things in his mouth at all?
Are you giving him the same foods you are eating while you're also eating?
Have you tried making it a game? Maybe coming away from the highchair and on to a messy play tray, so its less formal? Like a messy picnic?
Its like they say, all babies do things at their own pace. I would speak to GP or health visitor for advice, theres no harm.

I think if you feel like you've tried everything, then see what the professionals say maybe. They might have some ideas.
Its so hard because kids really do make up their own rules and we just try to play catch up all the time. He will do it eventually, its just frustrating not know when that will be. If he needs to stay on formula a bit longer then give him what he needs until he's ready.

We started weaning at 6 months and he did not eat anything until 12 months old. Everything I put in front of him, he had this disappointed look like how dare I feed him this rubbish. Very very slowly he started eating after his 1st birthday.
One thing I would say, maybe check how much formula he's having over 24 hours and also what times he's having that. He might not feel hungry enough to try solids.

My daughter was the same she just turned 11 months
She was getting full on her milk (breast milk in a bottle) and then would only eat small amounts of solids or even just refuses
The health visitor told me to start offering solids first and see how that goes and honestly it's been a game changer, she's still not a massive eater but she eats enough so that she dropped a bottle through the day and she even snacks on fruits now
I think as they get to 10-11 months their appetite increases as well so you should see an improvement soon
I can feel your pain, I used to get so frustrated with my daughter but it will get better xx
This weekend we are starting - but at night I want to sleep so how can I do that? Keep nappy on at night or?

Guys I’ve been trying my daughter with different foods since she turned 6 months she’s now 8 months old and is just not interested in solids, she won’t let me spoon feed her (she doesn’t open her mouth) I’ll give her the spoon and she just throws it around. She does try finger foods but then spits everything out. I feel like I’m failing her and it’s starting to upset me, she just doesn’t want it 😭

I’m 38 weeks pregnant and really struggling.
My little boy is 23 months and he has turned into an absolute nightmare. the tantrums are so extreme and it’s like walking on eggshells with him. It’s like he is so fragile and emotional and ANY little thing sets him off. He goes to nursery/family 4 days a week and is fine there but I’m finding myself dreading my one day off with him. I’m trying to ignore the tantrum and reward when he stops rather than giving in but I don’t know how to handle this in public when everyone is looking and he’s running away from me. I can’t just pick him up kicking and screaming due to being so heavily pregnant.
He’s definitely worse for me than his dad and others but it’s just so mentally draining, I feel so flat and down about it and it feels like everyone around me isn’t struggling at all with 2 or more children and I keep thinking if I can’t even cope before the baby is here how am I going to cope with 2?
Feel like such a failure.

Very nervous about starting solids the right way! Also making sure it’s variety of food, allergens etc. Could someone recommend a guide I could follow day by day week by week to start?
