Daughter staying out for the night

Long post incoming so terribly sorry 🙈

Hey ladies!

My nearly 7 month old is staying out for the night with my mum as a trial run before some upcoming events we have planned in the summer!

My daughter is EBF but will take a bottle when we have offered her one! And I’m just looking for advice to make the night as easy as possible for my mum!

We have plenty of milk available for her but I’m wondering how best to help set up so that night feeds aren’t too stressful!

With thawed breastmilk can this be left at room temp in a bottle if not been touched by baby if so how long? If not what’s the quickest way to get this warmed for her out of the fridge to avoid meltdowns?

How much are you offering your babies in a bottle? Before bed, and overnight feeds! She’s taken 4oz in bottles before but she’s always had me there available if she’s needed a top up or whatever? Is it better to have bigger bottles and then she can just take what she wants and leave the rest?

In terms of pumping, she has just started to do longer stretches again so only feeds 2 times in the night but does feed to sleep. Would you suggest I pump as normal for any bottles I know she’s going to have and then extra double pump before bed and in the morning to offset the feeds she has missed over night? Also would you suggest my mum tries to feed to sleep on the bottle as not to make the routine too disimilar to what we do at home?

I feel like I have so many more questions but conscious this post is already pretty long

Any advice and tips would be amazing!

Thank girls 🥰

When mine stayed out and I was still EBF, I just based it on 1oz per hour but she was very much just feed on demand, I’d say mine now drinks a similar amount on formula and she has 5oz every 4 hours so you could suggest that?
Pumping wise, I would pump when feeds normally are if you can. If you’re out and about I wouldn’t worry about it too much just do it when you get back x

That’s exciting for you and a good idea re a trial run too.

Could you test the bottle theory at home first? E.g your partner put her to bed one night and give her a larger bottle of breast milk to see how she goes and whether she will feed to sleep on the bottle?

Will she have the thawed breast milk cold from the fridge or will she want it warmed up? You’ll just need to use a jug of warm water to warm it up as you don’t want to nuke it otherwise it will kill all the goof stuff. When I offer my daughter pumped milk, she thankfully will take it at any temp as just loves a bottle. I’ve been offering my daughter 7oz before bed and she downs it.

Pump at your normal feed times if you can. I have the same dilemma as going away next month for 3 nights and my daughter still feeds multiple times during the night 🫣. I think as long as you still pump regularly even just for a short period then you should be ok!

Hope you enjoy your upcoming events ☀️!

Am I overreacting?

My LG goes to nursery 4 days a week (3 half days and 1 full day). We have to provide our own nappies and wipes and were told when they’re running out so we can restock, which is fine.

My issue is, the last few days, my LG has come home in a random nappy from a brand that isn’t hers and she’s started to become sore down there. When my partner brought it up to the baby room manager, her response was ‘oh well, babies are babies, it doesn’t matter and they pull them out the drawers’. For one, the drawers are high up as I’ve seen them so shouldn’t be getting pulled out and 2. If I’m providing nappies, use them because what if the persons nappies being used, can’t afford a lot?

We’ve had no issues with the nursery until this but I wonder if maybe I’m overreacting about it?

Car seats

I’m so sorry if this is a stupid question but I’ve just found out I’m pregnant with my 3rd baby. What happens with car seats in the back of the car? My other two are still in car seats they are nearly 4 & 2? Where will the new born car seat go? Am I being stupid?🤦🏽‍♀️😂😂😂

Advice needed

I keep waking up feeling like a bad mum!
My boy is 13 weeks old, for the last few nights he’s started stirring so I’ve popped his dummy in and he’s gone to sleep. This has resulted in me feeding him at about 4/5am after his last feed at 9/9.30pm. After that feed he won’t wake up fully (just stir and I pop dummy in until about 9/9.30am) I’m not questioning whether if I’m starving him through the night! Should I give him the dummy when he stirs or should I be offering him a feed?
Would he settle with a dummy and go back to sleep if he was actually hungry? As I know through the day when he’s hungry nothing settles him other than the feed so sometimes I have to feed him earlier than the 3 hours he usually goes.
Through the day he’s having about 6 feeds and he’ll take 160ml-170ml each feed. Is this enough to sustain such long gaps through the night? He appears to be gaining weight well , hes fit in 3-6months since bang on 12 weeks and he’s a very happy baby when he’s awake.

Visitors of newborn.

I’m feeling a bit anxious about having visitors after I get home from having my baby. I know a baby’s immune system is immature for the first 2 months of life and don’t want her to get any germs.

I am worried about family members turning up and not telling me their poorly like got a cough or viral thing. My question is has anyone ever visited your home and been poorly?

Can your baby self soothe to sleep?

If so, how did they learn? How did you support them?
