Stay at home mum friends

Hi all,
I’m mummy to a gorgeous 17 month old little girl and am lucky enough to be able to stay home full time with her, however…most of my mum friends have returned to work and I’m finding it really hard to make friends who are available for play dates and meet ups. I go to a few different play groups but no one seems too willing to chat or make friends outside of the occasional chit chat, does anyone else find the same?
If there are any other stay at home mums out there feeling a little lost, it would be great to hear from you!

Hey lovely, I’m not a stay at home mum but I do have a 19m old (who I have on Tuesdays) and I’m on maternity with a 4.5 month old, planning to go back late Nov but also not really sure what my plan is. I’ve found this too, it’s so daunting and when I finally pluck up the courage to say “hey did you want to get a coffee sometime” they say sure and they’ll give me their number, yet they never do 🤣 I can’t work out if it’s that they forget in the chaos or if it’s that they aren’t actually interested. Feel free to pop me a message if you’re up for a coffee and a little trip to the park! 🛝

How do you accept money?

A childhood friend offered to send me $100 because he knows I’m going through a tough time. I’ve never been offered money before and have never asked anyone to borrow money. I don’t even know how to answer yes. It feels so weird. We only speak through Instagram so I don’t think he still has my number.

Do I reply with my phone number and say “you can send it through Zelle or Apple Pay” — that sounds so crazy to me.

Someone please help!

Feel really worried and scared :(

My husband has been super unreasonable during my postpartum period especially with boundaries around his family. He is now suggesting going to his family’s staycation with my baby who will be 6 weeks old and if I don’t go he is willing to take baby without me. He seems to want to go for a whole day.

Does anyone know if he can do this or if I should speak to the health visitor or something

could you be friends with someone with very different opinions to you?

i think we’ve lost the ability to do this as a society. don’t get me wrong, i couldn’t be friends with someone racist or homophobic, but if one of my friends had a different “big opinion” (anti-vax or anti-abortion or voted reform) or whatever i can’t imagine dumping them

Do you get any baby-free time in your day?

Mums, do you get any baby-free time in your day? Time for just you. Just to be.

I feel terrible but I find it difficult to be with my baby all the time. I just feel like I need time away from her sometimes. Apart from my husband I have no one else around to help with the baby.
