Work life balance

We are literally struggling, me and my husband have 9-5 jobs and to reach our offices it takes us about an hour so that means my kid has to stay in Creche from 7.30 - 5.30 and the guilt to leave him alone all this while is so heavy . As we do not have immediate family here , it is quite challenging. I do not know how all of you are managing this .

It is hard to leave your child at young age in a crèche tbh. I found it so hard to leave it at young age and currently had to leave work to stay with my child while my husband can work. Nowadays it’s hard with one income but I just couldn’t manage to leave my newborn with unknown people and I heard many horror stories plus the cost of leaving them daily was a lot. I found the hard way the UK system for working mothers and leaving kids in a crèche was absolutely terrible. They expect us to work full time and pay towards the crèche meaning we lose at both ends from seeing your child to financial stress and struggle.

I know I came out to be negative but it did made me so upset the whole system when I became a mother. This is not 1970 where a father can bring one income home and all live comfortably.

I hope you find alternative ways and spend more time with your child. 🫶

Am I in the wrong

I suggested to my husband that he could maybe one night every couple of weekends he could get up with the kids. At the minute im up about 5 times a night with both kids so hardly getting any sleep. Im happy to do this during the week as he is working and im on Mat leave but i dont think its unreasonable for once in a while for me to have one nights sleep. Also I do all the cooking/cleaning/childcare.
He just said no, he has a physical job and his body needs rest. He said he'll end up ill if he doesnt get his sleep. Im just really tired and expected to do everything all the time because im on mat leave.

Toddler asking for food all day long

I am genuinely getting concerned about how often my child asks for food.
It can be as soon as 15 minutes after a meal and she will be asking for lunch or a snack.
It doesn't matter what she has - carbs, meat, cheese, fruit, yogurt - she never seems full up?!
She will keep asking for a snack continuously until I give her something.
It feels like she's asking out of habit but she will always eat whatever I give her.

Please be honest with me ..

My daughter was crying in car the whole drive home. My husband tells her to shut up and I tell him not to say that to her. He then goes on basically saying I’m a bad mom because I don’t let him parent because I told him not to tell her to shut up. (4years old) he says if he was the one staying at home (SAHM)she would be acting that way (crying all the way home) am I a bad parent who doesn’t let him parent because i tell him not to tell her to shut up? He then tries to justify it by saying growing up his parents told him to shut the F up and hit him and tells me I don’t know how your parents raised you etc .. continues to tell me do your duty teach them good values, etc..does this whole situation raise a question that I’m a bad mom? And am I just being sensitive because I didn’t like how he told her to shut up?

Would you get annoyed at your sister?

So our hot water wasn’t working, as the boiler pressure was down.
I called to report it, and the landlord was telling me that we should try boiling hot water, and putting it in a plastic container and washing ourselves in the kitchen ( as I said I don’t want to carry boiling water to the bathroom with two small kids). ( as a temporary fix while someone comes to repair).

And I told my mum who was with me ( my mum was in a group call with my sister and aunts). And my sister said they tried tricking you guys, and we said no, and she said they tricked Bethany ( meaning me).

It’s fine if she just said it to me, but they were on a group call with other aunties! I felt so undermined. I got annoyed saying what trick are you talking about! So now the aunts gonna think I’m disrespectful?
