I’m currently 10 weeks postpartum and don’t breastfeed (no judgement please! there was a lot of personal issues that stopped me doing so). i did attempt to express colostrum when i was pregnant but only managed to get about 3ml total. however since birth, i never breastfed. my milk came in properly after 2 days and i was told to leave them alone and it would go on its own. however they are still producing a lot of milk, im going through almost 10 breast pads a day . i’ve spoken to multiple health care professionals and all they’ve said is there’s nothing they can do and to ask other mums for advice 😅 it’s affecting my daily life so much and im so uncomfortable all the time. it makes me feel so insecure as i can’t wear anything comfortable/nice without leaking through my pads and bra. is there any advice on drying them up thats actually worked for others please? thanks so much in advance 🫶🏼

I stopped breast feeding day 3 of Bub! To painful & wasn't in the right headspace, my milk hadn't fully come in yet, probably day 5 it started to come in, ice packs every day morning noon and night for about 20 mins, also a good supportive bra helps too, I didn't touch them at all, even in the shower just let the water run over them. Also cabbage leaves helped a lot, in the freezer and then straight into my bra for those lounge at home days.. not sure if it will help 💗 good luck!

Both times I was ready to stop I barely drank for 2 days to dehydrate myself and popped Sudafed. Sudafed has pseudoephedrine as an active ingredient which kills breastmilk supply, that’s why it’s written on the packet that’s it’s not for breastfeeding mums. My friend is a midwife and told me to try it and it worked amazing. No mastitis, no pain, gone in 2/3 days max with no leaking after that first day or two.

Hey! I’m a first time mom with a four month old little boy. I got to breast-feed for the first couple weeks before deciding to give it up for mental health reasons. It was such a good decision for our family, and hope to breast-feed for longer in the future, if I can!
Our situations are a little different, but what I can say is that it took my breast a long time to fully dry up. I didn’t do anything except leave them alone and eventually they stopped making milk. Maybe around two or three months. Hopefully you don’t have to have it for much longer!
If you’re continuing to soak through breast pads, I would recommend using the haakaa flower silicone cups. They’re good for collecting leaks and they’re reusable too!
