I have been with my husband more than 12 years but he never surprises me with something from his heart. I always go above and beyond beyond ( so I think) I get him the newest sneakers, I got him an Apple Watch, I got him cologne, and I also get him nice clothes. What I get? Nothing! Every year I make sure I get him something nice. But he only says that I’m just hard to pleased… mind you I send him pictures of what I want thinking one day he will suprise me with something I send him. This year he only gave me some ugly black shorts and that was my suprise, shorts!!! I just don’t feel the connection

Id have a conversation with him and if it doesn't change id start putting in the same amount of effort that he puts in

Tell him this !!!

Get him nothing match his energy
I’m such a sucker for romance movie and I always wonder just how I fell in love with this guy!

Maybe thats not his love language

I agree with Sara, Don’t harp over he’s not matching your energy when it comes to romance/gift giving, some men just not that type. Instead of gifting him, do something nice for the both of you that you’ll actually enjoy like taking a trip, going to a couples spa, and if you want a purse or some buy it yourself using his money. You gotta look at it from a different angle, just don’t be sad about it, I totally get what you saying but remember you deserve whatever it is you desire, stop buying him stuff and instead buy yourself some and if he wants better performance, save the $$$ and start performing, he tell you that’s what he wants anyways 😩 spend that money on you girl!

What is his love language? Yours may not be his. And while I agree that he should make an effort and listen to what you tell him, this also has a lot to do with love languages. The way people receive and show love can be very different

buying things for your partner and expecting the same in return...is not what love is.
It doesnt matter how many things you buy because your partner does not value materialistic things the same way as you.
Love isnt always about gifts.

No, it’s not love if you’re giving gifts, expecting in return.
