my baby daddy works days and I work night shifts. we are no longer together but we live in the same apartment for now until the lease is up in 2 months and I’ll be moving back in with my parents. I woke up this morning to a bandage on my 1.5 year olds forehead and so I took it off to check. she had a big gash on her head so I texted and called him multiple times. he’s been ignoring me all morning (from 10am and it is currently 3:30pm) and he didn’t mention anything about it to me last night when I got home from work. Since I didn’t know how it happened I took her to a pediatric urgent care to get checked out. they cleaned the wound and glued it shut and said she will be fine but might have minimal scarring. I’m highly considering taking her to my parents house for us to spend the night there since his lack of communication is making me upset. Her health and safety comes first and he needs to learn how to communicate with me about serious things like this.
Just want to make sure I’m doing the right thing and if anyone has advice I would greatly appreciate it.

TAKE THAT BABY TO YA PARENTS CAUSE WHY DIDN'T HE INFORM YOU AND TAKE HER TO THE HOSPITAL.
THATS NEGLECTFUL AF

No you are not overreacting, he should have told you what happened especially a wound that had to be glued shut 😭poor baby hope she’s okay

Your response and reaction to his lack of communication as a parent is extremely valid

I wouldn’t trust him alone with her anymore after that. If your parents are an option, I’d ask them to take her overnight on the nights that you are working.

This sounds super petty and agreed in general neglectful of him, even more so if it was bad enough to need glued shut. Like things happen, kids hurt themselves, but communicate for the child’s needs and care.

His lack of communication toward you now has consequences that her safety is not a priority to him.

No. You are not overreacting. But, could he be at work and unable to respond? Like sometimes I'm at work and can't even look at my phone almost till the end of the shift.
Yeah, he was very careless to have not told you last night. But it was bandaged and that means he did make an effort.
Safety of the kid first. But before making conclusions, maybe see what's really happened if this is just like a one off something and not that he has always been keeping you in the dark about things regarding the child. 🤷
Thank you all for the advice! we have packed our bags and are headed to my parents now 🫶🏽
