Grandparents said they aren’t willing to have my son overnight?

Both sets of grandparents are involved in my son’s life, they see him once a week, but when the topic is bought up about a potential sleepover they both are very dismissive. I know this is in their right, but I don’t understand why as they seem to both love my son so much and want to spend time with him.
My grandparents basically raised me how much I was there growing up, some nights I’d sleep over for 3 days, and my husband was the same.
Whenever I look online to see if anyone can relate, I only find people who’s parents are pretty much not involved at all, or people who are complaining their parents WANT the kids to sleepover and they refuse to allow it.
For reference both grandparents work part time (2 days a week) and are in their late 50s. People in my life have often asked me if my son sleeps over at the grandparents and when I say no they always act bewildered as to why. When we ask them why they’re very dismissive. When my son was a baby it was “not until he’s stopped needing milk”, then it was “not until he’s sleeping completely though the night”, now he is doing that it’s “not until he no longer has to wear nappies”.

Is anyone in a similar situation? My son is 2 and a half.

I didn’t stay over at my grandparents until I was much older, around 7/8 years old. I think for grandparents it’s possible that they still see your son in the “baby stage” therefore their nighttime routine will change and they may not wish to do that. It’s not their norm. Also as your son is only 2.5 years, I would be cautious as many children, despite knowing their family members would feel anxious about staying over and being without mummy or daddy. I personally would wait until he’s older

I didn’t let my son stay over at the grandparents until he was 3 1/2 years old. Even now he gets upset at bedtime with them asking for me. So 2 1/2 is still young. I wouldn’t rush it. X

My mum has never asked to have mine. She loves to tell me about how she always invites my niece and nephew over though 🙃 even when I’m moaning to her how much I need a break… it’s like not even an option in her mind 🤷🏼‍♀️
My MIL, tells me she’ll have my eldest when it’s school holidays as she works in a school. she has him on average one night a year. We sat down with her just before summer hols and aired our frustrations for needing a break. She said don’t worry it’s summer hols next week I’ll help… she’s said maybe one night towards the end of holidays. Frustrated isn’t the word.

Please tell me I’m not a bad mum 💔

Before any comes at me, I took him to the doctors immediately to be checked over and he’s absolutely fine. I however feel sick to my stomach. I was getting ready with my little one on the bed. I ran into his room to get him some clothes, which is what I always do as he usually just stays in one spot playing. Not even a minute after I left the room, I hear a bang and an immediate cry. My angel had fallen off the bed. I don’t know how it happened and I’m an absolute idiot to have left him but it was just another day I didn’t think anything of it. My partner was at work else he would’ve been in the room with him. He cried for a couple minutes while I held him, he had nothing but a small bruise on his nose. Never have I ever had such a quick adrenaline rush. My heart has sank and I cried with him. Never again will I leave him on his own or at least on the bed on his own. I’ll always resort to the floor now unless he’s with me. I can’t stop picturing him on the floor in tears, I’m absolutely heartbroken. God please someone tell me I’m not a bad mum 😭

Caught my boyfriend out

7 weeks since my second c section and I have just caught my partner out looking at naked girls and talking to them on his phone.

I hate my body as it is and am ashamed of it and now he’s done this..I’m so angry, I’m heart broken. I didn’t feel good enough as it was and now I feel so worthless.

Why am I not good enough, worst thing is if I hadn’t of caught him how much longer would he of lied to me😢

Husbands jealous/narcissist outburst

Is it even possible for a partner to think you’re “in love” with your own and only sibling because we are genuinely really close? Ever since we started dating my now husband has always complained of how close I am with my brother that today he accused me of “being in love” with my brother. To me that was the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. My father has a family business. Since we were little my father has had this business and now as adults me 35 and my brother 31 are mostly running it. To make things short my brother and I now run the business. Well, to my husband not only am I in love with my brother but what’s more important to me “allegedly” is spending time with family then my own husband and son. At this point I can only see a narcissist speaking to me. Not my husband nor my sons father but a narcissist. It’s hard to love a person this way. The only way this seems to work is me not speaking t my brother so my husband doesn’t see my brother as a threat. Just typing this makes me sick thinking it’s actually happening. Oh and keep in mind my brother and I grew up together in the business.

Any thoughts/advice?

Vent (super long)

I just need to get this out I have nobody in my life to talk to, when I talk about it they don’t listen or care cause it’s not happening to them.. so broke up with my sons father a few months ago but I was very hesitant cause I can’t get job and I would have no one to support me but my mom kept telling not to stay and that she would help me. So I left and his dad was sending me $150 a week for groceries, diapers and baby essentials, but then he stopped. I asked him a few days ago if he could get some things for the baby and he said couldn’t cause HE needed groceries, so I had to ask my mom to buy him groceries and I feel awful for asking cause she’s struggling to pay for herself. My living situation isn’t the best I live with my mom, 2 older brothers, my brother’s wife and their son, there is also 3 dogs and 2 cats. And my oldest brother comes over all the time with his 2 kids that DESTROY our house, steal things, break things, make messes, fill the sink with dishes and I have to clean it all up, fight, yell all hours of the night, and their dad does nothing cause they aren’t bothering him, and this last weekend they destroyed the toilet so I had to keep going to the gas station to use the bathroom for almost a week. My other brother his wife and son they don’t really clean up after themselves or their dogs they piss on everything and chew the baby toys and nobody cares. My mom just complains but doesn’t do anything cause she doesn’t want to deal with it. But just the other night I dropped my car off the get the inspection and it failed I need to get new tires and get the strut fixed, it’s gonna cost over $700, and I don’t have a job to pay for it, I use my car to instacart but i haven’t had my car to myself in months my brother uses it for work cause he had to turn in his plates and then my mom just found out she has to turn in her plates for a year because of my brother so they both use my car I don’t have it during the week, so I have no source of income, I also babysit my nephew but I’m not getting paid for that cause the car used to be my brothers and the money I would make from babysitting is going to pay the car off. I’m trying to sell my pc but my nephew stole my mouse and keyboard and nobody cares they just laughed when I told them.. I’m so depressed I can’t even afford to take care of my son or even myself, I feel like an awful mom cause I’m so stressed out, I never get a break from being a mom, his dad takes him once a week for the night but he gets him right before his bedtime and I pick him up first thing in the morning cause he will call me 100 times cause he wants to go play basketball. I went out once last weekend for the first time in my entire life I stayed up until 6am and he tired to guilt me cause he couldn’t go to the gym cause I woke up at 11am. I just don’t know what to do anymore I want to leave with my son and not come back, but I can’t get a job cause of the cost of childcare and I’m also a high school drop out so I don’t have a diploma. I’m so lost I just want to give up on everything

I just needed to get it out cause I’ve been crying all day and nobody around me cares. There is so much more I could go on about but I’m not going to

Sensory classes

Hey everyone! What are your thoughts on baby sensory classes? I’ve found one in my area that costs a fee for a 6-week term, and I’m wondering if it’s worth it. My baby will be 3 months old when the classes start. Did you find them beneficial?
