Resentment

So I have a lot of resentment towards my child’s father and everyone in my life and that’s around me it’s like all the time they have to mention how much my daughter looks like her father, like “she’s his twin”, “they look exactly alike” etc and it’s upsetting and annoying tf out of me.
I know and think she looks like her father too and that’s fine but I feel she looks like me as well and it’s like I’m discredited and disregarded when it comes to my child looking anything like me
I’m constantly hearing and being told that she only looks like him. It’s starting to get to me and I feel like I’m resenting my child too. I don’t wanna look at my child and only see him because everyone’s putting it in my head and making it seem like she only looks like her father and not me.
idk seems pretty, but idk I already feel like I don’t have the best established bond with my daughter after giving birth (which yes takes time) but now with this, I feel like it’s creating more of a disconnect mentally for me.

[ if you’re gonna read this and twist it to some narrative that I don’t love my child unconditionally, that I have some malice and hatred towards my child or I must be mistreating my child and acting differently towards her y’all can keep comments and thoughts to yourself cause you clearly read it how you wanted to read it and on top of that be rude about it ]
and I swear the same women that want to claim they care or support other women for postpartum depression, PPP etc are the first hop down a woman throat and judge to make then feel less of a mother they already feel they are
And I get not everyone can relate so please just keep your unsympathetic insensitive take on others real life mental struggles to yourself.

You are resenting your child because of who YOU CHOSE to be her father?! That’s not okay. We need to dig deeper into this and get you to a point of accountability. And if resenting her is making you act differently towards her, bring her here until you can come back to a place of love and you can get her back!

You’re resenting your child because she looks like her father? There is a lot more going on here I feel? Jealousy perhaps? I’m not sure but I don’t think these are typical responses to your child looking like their dad…

i get why you would feel like that. my bds mum used to relate everything to her son when i mentioned anything to do with my baby. even though my mum also said i was the same as a baby lol. just don’t read too much into it and remember that no matter who your baby looks like more that’s still your baby. it will get easier with time as long as you love your baby and try not to resent your baby just because they may look like their dad more. it’s all dna. you can’t choose who they look like more. who knows as they grow you may see more of your qualities and personality. it all takes time to adjust x

I’m sorry you feel that way. I can totally empathize with those feelings and want you to know you’re free to vent here, no judgment. Being honest about your emotions is the first step in working it all out which I can tell is important to you. I have problems with my BD so one of my weapons is to point out that our child looks nothing like him (only because half Asian babies tend to cancel out the other half), so even though I’m not in your situation I’m well aware how much it could hurt the other person, petty or not. I don’t have too much advice except to say your feelings are valid and that once you can get over the initial hurt you’re able to be more honest about the way you feel towards your child. Pain makes us blind to a lot of things. You will always be his mama and nothing can ever replace that. Guys know this too and biologically this is one reason why they look like their dads, because the father genes are fighting to stake ownership since they didn’t bear the child.

I understand I believe I'm going through the same thing. The boys never even met him. It can be hard dealing with it but when you feel that feeling remember they are your baby they come from you your body created them. Or think of the baby daddy as a sperm donner 🤷‍♀️🤣(thats what I do). My oldest looks like his father so sometimes I feel that resentment towards him when I do i try 3 things. 1. Remember they are mine and without me they wouldn't be here to love. 2.list 2 reasons you love them no matter who simple it is. 3. If needed or possible take a min if you think u are treating them unfairly.

Fall down the stairs… please help

My son fell down the stairs and I took him straight to a and e and they said all was good thank god. The doctor said as he’s had a fall at home they have to refer me on to the health team or something??? What does that even mean? I’m scared like it was an accident

Nappies in this heat 😷

Ladies what are we doing with dirty nappies in this heat? I had a separate outdoor bin for them but it f****** stunk! So just throwing them direct into the wheelie bin now but ours only gets collected once every 2 weeks so worried about flies and yes maggots 🤮. What’s everyone else doing?

Crying

Does anyone else cry? 😂 ive cried twice now, baby is 5 week old, so overall that isn't too bad!! But im tired.. she's very much at the stage now where she wakes instantly when i put her down. But I feel guilty for crying because I love my little girl so much and I'm crying because of the sleep deprivation that she's causing.. i always feel better after a cry

Nappies

*UPDATE*
I GOT NAPPIESSSS 🥳🥳🥳
So i am really embarrassed with this, but i have run out of nappies and I have now had to use a teatowel to cover my boy up. Unfortunately, his dad won't be back until 8ish but I do not see a way to take him out to the shops to get one, my question really is, What the fuck do i do? Its not like the shop is close by either.

Early sleep regression?

Omg last night was the absolute pits for us. My little guy used to sleep from around 7pm-2am reliably and quietly and then have a nightmare active sleep night from 3-8am ish.

However last night we were awake no less than 8 times, he ate twice and was just wide awake for the most part. He was a nightmare to get back to sleep and just seemed to want to be awake and have a play! If he was in his next2me he just cried and cried and cried. Ive been awake with him sleeping chest to chest with me since 4am 🫠 im exhausted and dreading tonight already!

Is this just a bad night? I didn't realise how good we had it 🥲

Talker or mover

Has anyone found their baby was either a talker or a mover? My baby is pulling to stand but really not babbling much at 10 months. He’s has in the past but the last couple of weeks he has been so quiet. Wondering if anyone else’s LO stopped being social whilst learning a new motor skill?
