I need an excuse HELP ASAP!!!

I work from home. My manager has just randomly said he needs to speak with me about work.

Only problem is I have already picked my kid up from nursery and she is currently with me. Partner is out.

Basically I cannot have a meeting right now,

I read his message and have just ignored it. Which he knows.

I need to follow up. What should I say!?!?!

Say nursery sent your child home sick šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

What she said.

What they said but also can apologise for not responding sooner but you were contacting partner to see if he could cover childcare in your place

Is it in your working hours? And if so is it known and agreed your child will be there?

So I’m guessing this probably isn’t the first time you’ve done it. How long was you offline for? Can you message back and just say child’s nursery has called and say they need picking uk straight away and ask if you can catch up first thing Monday?

Avatar

Also apologise for ignoring him and just say you’ve been trying to call family to help get hers gives you time

Why is he asking to have a meeting outside of your working hours?

Lol crisis averted. She fell asleep and I was able to hold off for 30mins.

She goes to nursery but we pick her up at 2pm and she usually falls asleep while I continue my work.

I work from home so it's never been a problem before.

I never have unexpected meetings so was thinking ohhh nooo šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£šŸ˜…

The joys of working full time and juggling parenting. 🤭

If your employer doesn't know you're in sole care of a child while you're working, I'd be careful it's grounds for instant dismissal

Feel like my toddler literally dislikes me

My 17m old son has favoured his dad for at least 6 months and has not gone through a stage where he favours me, it’s to the point where he will choose his dad over me every single time for everything, when he’s ill wants his dad, just in general for everything, it’s starting to actually make me feel shit because I’m like naturally don’t babies favour their mum mostly? We are very 50/50 parents, I’m at work mon to fri and so is dad so isn’t like he sees one of us more than the other. Has anyone been through this? I know it can be normal but for this long? It’s starting to genuinely make me feel shit.

Your toddlers bestie parents

My daughter has a lil bestie at nursery.

She is always talking about him. They run up to each other and hug etc. It's honestly the sweetest thing.

I've only ever seen his parents like once. But I'm thinking next time I see them should I just be a lil begfriend and try to start a convo with them.

Like hey our kids are friends should we be friends šŸ˜‚šŸ˜…šŸ¤£ Lord help me, I am rusty.

No but seriously.... What do you do?

Do you make friends with your toddlers friend parents or just leave it alone.

We don't have friends in this area. So it would be nice if some weekends she can just go to the park and play with him.

Am I tripping or has this man lost his mind???

We came home from picking him up from work and I’ve been having this pain in my stomach. I told him I’m in pain I need to lay down. I had planned on making dinner when I felt better but the pain didn’t go away. It’s 9pm, and the kids haven’t eaten. I fell asleep and was expecting him to figure out what we were gonna eat. While I was asleep, the kids completely trashed the place while he was playing the game. Then he comes in the room saying ā€œwhat are we gonna eat, if you knew you wasn’t cooking you should’ve said that when we got home.ā€ On top of this, he came in the room, saw how there was trash (we have a 1 year old) on the floor, and started kicking the trash to my side of the room saying ā€œthis is disgusting. I’m not cleaning this up why is it all on my side.ā€ I had to get up, make our 5 year old a quick chicken quesadilla and some sweet potato fries. He just sat there. Then after I made her food I went back to lay down and he came and tried to physically get me out of the bed saying ā€œyou need to shower and you’re in my spot get up and go shower.ā€ Forces me out the bed and says he’ll order something. I told him our daughter needs to get in her bedtime clothes and he needs to do night time duties with her. He didnt say or do anything. So he left it alone and after I finally got her in the bed he sat next to me and said ā€œI don’t like eating late I’m not ordering nothing. I’m getting in the shower.ā€ So now I have to cook for myself or just not eat. Like I don’t understand why he has to be so harsh and manipulative. Am I tripping ?

Shoutout to the good husbands out there šŸ’•

I never see posts about admiring our husband instead all i see is useless , selfish, toxic relationships. Anyways it’s 3:21am and I couldn’t sleep bc our baby kept waking up needing her paci and my husband took our baby girl to go sleep in the guest room together so i can get some sleep. he also wakes up every morning and makes me 3 bottles to see me up already ahead on the morning. my hubby runs my feet every night before bed, ive never had to wash dishes or laundry bc he knows i hate those specific chores and i handle everything else. husband never learned how to cook but he started taking classes early into our relationship, he has always bin kind, consistent , and considerate and have NEVER changed we have bin together for 6 years total & married 3 years. we are not rich by any mean lol at allllll but he always makes sure we have what we need and I am blessed enough to be able to swipe his card whenever i like and it never declines. I’ve gained a lot of weight with my two pregnancies. We have two children under two and he has bin so patient and encouraging about me getting back into shape every time I criticize myself he shuts it down and just overall speaks life into me. I just wanted to rant about how grateful I am for my man and all he does and if you got a good man at home they deserve the same recognition as us mothers get all the time

Parenting help with an almost 4 year old

First things first I’m trying to be a lot better about setting boundaries and sticking to them and what I say instead of giving in. I know I probably made things harder for myself cause I’ve been pretty lenient but we’ve been having a lot more outbursts with my oldest recently and I am not sure what to do about it anymore.

My son has not been listening very well to my directions and honestly just blatantly ignoring and pushing the limits lately and I don’t really know what kinds of things I can do to enforce the rules better. He’s also just been acting out like crazy and having meltdown after meltdown and talking back.

I’ve tried a time out to take him away from the whole situation and he has started to think it’s funny so obviously that isn’t seeming to work. I’ve taken toys away if he hasn’t been listening to the rules with those (ex: he rides his bike where he’s not allowed to/goes too far away, he got his bike taken away) which works in some situations but not all, he’s gotten cartoons taken away for the day, treats taken away, etc. I’ve been really working on the natural consequences but I don’t know what a natural consequence for talking back or throwing a fit when I say no would be. Or how would you go about if your kid swung at you to hit you when they’re angry that you said no to a popsicle for example.

I’m just really struggling with this phase of toddlerhood where a meltdown comes from anything not going his way and I understand some of the developmental stuff and whatnot but I’m losing my mind feeling like I’m butting heads with him all day everyday
