Does anyone else feel like older kids at the park are a tad bit rude?

For example my toddler is 2 and she’ll try interacting with 8 year olds for fun and they’re kind of mean since she speaks her toddler jibberish still & they don’t really understand her lol she mainly plays with the kids her age but if there’s no one else and she’s done playing with me she’ll go towards them. I understand the age gap is quite large though for sure.

Respectfully my 19 month old listens better than half the kids on the playground by us. She will wait her turn on the slide before she goes. She will wait for “our friends” to move away from the bottom before going. Idk how many times someone’s rude ass little 5 yr old has come barging in no waiting like the rest of the kids. But usually I see the mom just huddled chit chatting not watching their kids so it also adds up. I’ve even heard one kids yell at another right by the parents and not a single one said something. Sorry this topic really irritates my soul bc the kids at our playground are so rude and I can’t not stand a parent not being a parent.

The kids in our local park are wonderful. Example- a group of boys about 9-10 playing football kicked the ball to my 2 yr old when he seemed interested let him “join in” but I moved him away because really older kids go there for their own fun and they don’t really “play” with little kids they end up caring for them.

I don’t find that fair to burden them with as my little one isn’t grown up enough to play on their level so I thank them for kindness and lead him off and play with him myself.

I have older daughters (9, 13, 19) and they’ve all help out with their younger siblings at times and the park is a space they go to be with their friends or just swing etc not to help entertain more little kids.

I try not to read too much in to it. They may not understand why a toddler doesn’t make sense and don’t want to play with a smaller kid. They don’t always have the words to express it. I let my 17 month old go up to people but if they don’t want to play with him, that’s ok! It’s great practice for how to handle rejection and to accept that not everyone is going to be an instant best friend. Is he sometimes upset? Of course! He’s social and sometimes they are playing on the thing he wants. Is it ok for him to be sad sometimes? Absolutely! It’s a great learning moment.

YES! We’ve experienced them making fun of my lo for not knowing all the games they do. They’ll say no when she asks to play. They’ll say they’re not her friend. Sometimes they’ll play with her but then make up random rules to screw her in the game, basically just how they make fun of her for not knowing better. My daughter was pretend making pizza and the little girl pushed her stuff off the table multiple times. Parents not listening and watching, of course, which explains the behavior. This being said we’ve also met great older kids too at the park. Behavior is a reflection of their parents.

7 Months Pregnant and My Partner Wants to Leave

Second time mum (currently have a 5 year old and 7 months pregnant with a girl on the way). My partner (married 8 years, together 11) has sprung on me out of the blue that he is leaving as he feels like there has been no emotional connection between us for 18 months!! Never once spoke about any of this with me. Won’t explain any whys or even consider trying to work things out.

I’m at a loss of what to do, how to cope and make a safe place for me, little boy and the baby yet to be born.

Any advice?!

Sex/ body changing BD comment
/ advice plz

I’m 10 weeks pregnant. The father of the child said something that made my blood boil today! Would love to know if u understand or if it’s mainly the hormones reacting. Be truthful/blunt! Ok so.. he randomly says “ I’m going to be miserable when the belly starts getting bigger bc I will become sex deprived “, “ sex with a pregnant woman isn’t as enjoyable “.

Ok so I understand he has the right for those thoughts and may even be accurate in ways.. but miserable is a strong word. I’m growing our child. I found that really hurtful. Sure think it I don’t blame u for that! But why say it to me? Ofc that will make me feel sad.

He tried to save it by saying he’s excited for my belly to grow bc I’ll still be beautiful with a big baby belly. And I’m not denying that he doesn’t feel that way. But idk my turn to hear from you lovely ladies. Am I over reacting? Or was he kinda stupid for that. Once again don’t blame him for those thoughts, but he didn’t need to share them with me. My body’s changing, my confidence is good, but it’s shifting in a different kinda way in regards to the way my body’s becoming. He already has one child from a past relationship. I’m sure having intimacy while pregnancy, is different. Its common sense it will be different and less intense might I say.. lol but that also made me think,

so ur speaking from experience huh. ( didn’t say this to him just in my head ). I admit that’s a little much which is why I kept that thought to myself. Like he shoulda kept this to himself. Sure if u wanna vocalize ur thoughts sure but maybe word it more gently? Say it’ll be different and hard not miserable!!!!!!
