Issues with nursery

My 2.5 year old has been attending his nursery since April when we moved house and he seems to enjoy his days but lately he has been so emotional with us.

They moved him into the preschool room at nursery which should be from 3yo but one of the workers in his last room was moving to the new class and they just kept explaining that him and her have a ‘really close bond’ and she wanted him to move with her.

He tells us that this worker plays mums and babies with him (which I don’t think is appropriate to play with a nursery worker) and whenever I ask him about her he puts his head down and says I don’t want to talk.

My husband has always said that the worker was creepy (even from before we were aware of this close bond between them) and whilst I want my son to have a good relationship with the nursery staff, I can’t help but think she is a bit of a weirdo.

Obviously don’t want to start making accusations when I’m not sure what is going on but equally don’t want anything sinister to be going on between them. Does anyone have any advice on how to approach this?

Thanks!

What is creepy about Mums and Babies? Isn't that where the child pretend plays with dolls to care for them?
Does your little boy happily talk about the other nursery staff? I would be concerned if he happily talks about the other staff and avoids talking about her. He may just be emotional as its a big change being in a new room and maybe the staff ratios are different so he actually sees her much less and that could be what's upsetting him?

I would start by asking them to move him down to the appropriate room for his age! Pre school will have some kids in there who are almost 5, that's too much of an age gap to be honest. Also, I appreciate he may have a strong bond with someone but that's not a good enough reason to put him somewhere that he's not developmentally ready for?

If you're not 100% I would move the nursery. Childcare is so important for you and your child and expensive so if you don't think it's right, find somewhere else. The fact the nursery let him move with her so young into a room that isn't age appropriate doesn't seem right. Some places are good for a certain period but not forever, and some nursery rooms are better than others.

My own experience with a nursery I wasn't happy with I moved to a childminder that I was happy with for about 18 months then I felt like my son would be better off with more structure, and he was showing signs he wasn't happy and put him into a new nursery which he loves.

Always trust your intuition when it comes to your kid! It doesn't have to be 100% accurate or make sense to anyone else or have enough evidence to get a conviction. It's enough to say, I know my kid, and I'm getting a weird feeling, so I'm putting my foot all the way down.

Nursing chair

I am having my first child in December and currently getting things for the nursery.
Do you think nursing chairs are needed?

Am I being insane

(Forgot to make it a poll)

I keep thinking that if the roles were reversed, I would be such a better husband. I feel like I'm a lot more thoughtful than my husband, I get him small things from the store or a food he's been "craving" while I'm the one thats pregnant! I cook 100% of the time and clean 95%. I dont work so I guess he beats me on that. We have a 3 year old and only one car so I'm stuck with a baby while 7 months pregnant. When my husband comes home, he asks to take a nap, which I say yes nearly 100% of the time because I know how exhausted the day can make us. I just feel sad because I dont get offered a back massage or a foot massage. Like ever. Or a small gift. Or a "thanks for carrying my child!" Like I don't even feel pregnant and I feel a little taken advantage of.

He says he just forgets or doesnt think about me all the time and am I insane for being hurt by that??

Any other moms awake and cannot sleep at the moment?

Baby girl was born on Monday evening at 22.35 after a rather long, exhausting labour (she just didn’t want to come into the world that day)! We were discharged yesterday and have been home since, to be honest last night wasn’t even so bad. Today however, she’s been feeding almost all day (cluster feeding, sometimes for an hour and a half, other times for 10 min!) and since I’m breastfeeding I have some “cracking” problems, as well as latch and attachment issues, which the midwives will call me about tomorrow morning. We gave her formula a few times as well and she just seems constantly hungry, so I of course panic I don’t produce enough collostrum (milk hasn’t come in yet)!to keep her full. I’m sore all over, totally inlove with her and totally overwhelmed. Every time she cries, I cry and I constantly worry if she’s getting enough to eat. My husband is my absolute hero and rock and the best dad ever. I just feel..alone in the motherly feelings and hormones and emotions I’m going through and honestly don’t know how to not panic. Also, how to keep her warm enough? Different midwives told us different things and it’s all just so confusing. 😭
I apologize for the long post 😕 many mothers around offered advice and help, I just don’t feel like I can text them at 1.30am and melt down…

Would you be annoyed at this reaction

We were at a children's party the other day (5 year olds) a little girl hit/pushed my daughter in the stomach ( I saw it and told the little girl "No you dont hit" she ran off.
My daughter was very upset.
About 40 minutes later the little girl ran over and said sorry to my daughter.
Her dad mum was there this time and asked me what she was saying sorry for I told her because she pushed my daughter in the stomach.
The mum just said " oh well thats what kids do at that age" and then carried on talking to someone else!
If that was me I would have apologized

Childcare of baby number 1 when you're in labour with baby number 2?

I'm just wondering what people are doing with their other kids, when they go into labour and need to go into the hospital? I have a 21 month old, we have no close family near us to help. Nursery have agreed to have her in even if its not a day she normally does, but what do we do on a weekend? Or an evening? Hire a babysitter? Feels like a one off kind of situation...
