I'd like to hear from people that have done this and how support was from the hospital. I imagine it would vary by hospital though
Unfortunately, we do not have childcare for that period, so hubby has to stay with toddler.

I sent my partner home so he was a bit more refreshed for me coming home. The first night was OK. I had a side room and the nurses came in a few times to check. The next night I was on the ward and it was harder but not sure him being there would have made any difference. Luckily I didn't feel too much pain but I kept on top of the painkillers as much as possible x

It was totally fine. We had a toddler at home, and we didn't want her thrown out of routine, so my partner went home to put her to bed and came jnt he next morning. The midwives looked after me and helped lift the baby in and out of their little cot thing. It wasn't an issue at all x
Aww, thanks so much, mums.
This makes me feel better xx

I was alone as my partner went home for our toddler. The hospital weren’t helpful at all but I was absolutely fine, you do it because you have no choice! X

I think it depends on the hospital and if the midwives like you 😅
I didn't have a csection but spent 5 days in the hospital and there were a couple who had Csections that had midwives constantly taking their babies to change them/feed them as I guess they were being bottle fed so the csection mummy could rest?
However there was another that wasn't treated in the same way 🙃
And whenever I asked one of those midwives for help she didn't help.

My husband went home and I was on a ward. Unfortunately there was a demanding woman on the ward who took up the midwives time so I was left alone, I had also dropped my call button and couldn't get it. I tore my wound slightly but I don't blame the midwives. The hospital was over stretched and it wasn't their fault the other lady was demanding.

At my hospital you gontona ward so partners aren't allowed to stay overnight. I was worried about it but I just had to call the midwives whenever I needed to pick up or put down my baby from the crib and if I needed stuff to change him like from the changing bag. It got better the second night I was able to grab stuff from the bag and change him myself as long as it was close enough whereas the first night they changed his nappy for me if he needed it. My partner was then allowed in from 09:00 and could stay all day until 20:00

I was alone as my partner hadnt slept so wr decided it was best for at least one of us to get some sleep. I didnt have the best experience over night, i couldn’t move and the nurses took up to 15 mins to come to me when i would press the buzzer. The next morning the nurse who breast feeds forced me to latch my baby on while i kept telling her i an in pain. Honestly not a great experience lol. But my sister on the other hand had a good experience, the nurses offered to take her baby while she rested etc. so i guess it all matters on what type of nurses are on the shift.

My ex partner wasn’t allowed to stay overnight but he left after I got to the ward.

Painkillers and little movement are your best friend - when you have your spinal anaesthetic don't wait till it wears off to start taking painkillers, maybe after 2-3 hours as you gain feeling in your legs back take the painkillers, every 4-6 hours, take your painkillers even if you don't feel the pain super strong just take it as sometimes it can hurt really suddenly.
When I say movement, even if it's just sitting up very slowly or turning onto your side, moving from bed to chair - it really helps reduce the amount of pain you feel later. Next morning after your c-section just try to walk to the toilet - ask the midwives or MA's for help if you ain't feel steady enough to do it alone - don't push yourself too much just bit by bit and know your limits
After my c-section, I made a conscious effort to shower, my baby was in the nicu so I was walking between wards to feed him every 1-2 hours. By the week after I was able to go for walks outside normally x
Second baby, 38+1 and managed to get 2x 1ml syringes. It did take about half an hour though 😂
Starting later than I did in my first pregnancy, partially because I don’t want to go into labour yet but also because I just haven’t found the time!

Posting as incognito because I feel ashamed of how I’m feeling. I’m 34+1, I realise I have a while to go but just in floods of tears almost every day because I feel so sore and heavy and like I can’t do anything. I feel like my legs and hips are going to pop out their sockets when I walk and like I’ve been weight training every single day. I don’t know what to do anymore I’ve just sat and cried all evening because I don’t want to do it any longer. Is there anything to help with pain and discomfort or is there any medical reason I’m like this. I was having bad period type cramps all day yesterday but haven’t had anything today other than feeling I can’t even stand up without feeling like my whole body hurts. Is there anything doctors/ consultants/ midwives can do.

I’m 37+1 today with my third and my second I went into spontaneous labour at 36+6 so I really thought she’d be here by now 😩 Anyways over the last week I’ve been dry heaving, actually been sick once, I’ve had diarrhoea and loose stools, such a weak bladder, severe insomnia and crazy pressure down below. Every time she moves I can literally feel the pain of her head going in my vagina 🤣 Is is coming or am I just kidding myself 🤦🏻♀️

So my due date was 28th September but it turns out my body had other ideas 🙈 on Thursday at 35 weeks 3 days my waters broke spontaneously 🙈 currently in hospital being monitored for the last couple of days but no sign of labour as of yet 🤞🏼 so it looks like I’ll be going home and will be closely monitored and the plan is to induce me at 37 weeks due to high risk factors of infection… please wish us some luck 🥰🤞🏼 we are very nervous!

Is it just me or does it feel like the hospital push the idea of inductions on everyone. I can't tell you the amount of people that have had it or are planning to have one.
What is the reason for this?
