Not sure what I am hoping with this post. Maybe some comfort.
I will be back to work next week and my baby will start nursery tomorrow (4 days a week) full day.
I know it is part of the process for working out of the house moms, and I am been trying to get my head around but I am struggling. When I think that I won’t be the one spending the day with her, it breaks my heart.
I am trying to think of the main reasons I am back to work. To move to a house with more space, to provide for her etc but my heart is broken.
We don’t have family around so she basically only stayed and was looked after by me for 12 months. She is very attached and I am so concerned she will struggle.
I feel like a bad mom for sending her, but I don’t really have another option at this point in life.
How do you cope?
Thank you

This is hard, my boy was 8 months old when I had to go back to work and I had all the same feelings as you, guilt, sadness etc. But to be honest, I think it's what we both needed. He absolutely loves his nursery and I got to have some identity back aside from just being a Mum (plus coffee that's actually hot and a wee in peace!)
Of course you're allowed to be heartbroken at someone else looking after your baby, but she will get some benefits from being around other children 🤍 Don't feel guilty, you're providing for your family and that's allowed!

Its heart breaking when they start nursery. But they have soo much fun its brilliant. I love seeing the updates from my eldest in nursery

Ive Just started back at work full time and little one has also just started nursery, hes nearly 11 months. Its tough but I just try to think thats hes learning to make friends and interact with children his own age and I know hes going to benefit from going. Next week is out first full week of work and nursery drop offs and pick ups, just trying to figure out our new routine and what our new normal looks like x

You’re not a bad mum, you’re a good mum that is doing her best for her child. You want to provide her with a nice home and all the things she needs, it’s all for her. It will be so hard to start with but it will get easier I promise , I’ve been there🩷

We’ve just had our first week back at work and started nursery. It’s been a mentally, emotionally and physically exhausting week! I’m the same as you - feel guilty and worried about being away from her because her Dad and I are all she’s known for the last 11 months. I can’t say it’s been an easy week but she has started the settling process a lot better than we were expecting. Like you, it’s a matter of money so we don’t have a choice, I need to work. We’ve just tried to be easy on ourselves this weekend by having a chilled one and lots of cuddles. I’m hoping it all gets easier!
I'm on maternity leave with a 4 month old and have a 2 yr old toddler.
On Mondays I have no childcare so I'm looking after both all day.
Rest of the week my toddler is in nursery for half a day.
My partner goes to a social group every Tuesday evening for 4 hrs and on Saturdays for 3 hrs.
I've said I want to have free time 9-3 on a weekend to do whatever i want to do - shopping, baking, seeing friends, etc etc.
I said I can't have free time any other time during the week as there's no point - my partner is out from 7am to 6pm Mon-Fri.
Does this seem fair?

Hello im going to apologise ahead of time for the post as its gunna probably be a long one.
I had a baby in jan 2025 then another baby who was preterm delivered by emegency c section at 31 weeks and 6 days which was in may 2026 i have just took 4 clear blue tests last week which are saying in 2-3 weeks which means conception was 4-5 weeks ago i told my partner that we should of been more careful as ive always been against terminations myself unless its medically necessary (no judgement to anybody as there are a lot of very valid reasons for terminations).
But all in all he doesnt really do much to help me i do all finances i do all the kids care i do all the housework he doesnt even work either so he just lays about either in my house or running around for other people which can make things difficult in the house sometimes.
Id just like a bit of advise really on what the best thing to do it due to so many complications can happen eith this pregnancy due to the issues i had with my last labour and im a little concerned as i had really bad hyperemesis in both my last pregnancies and he never gave me enough time to recover i had to discharge myself from the hospital most times due to the kids were inconveniencing him and what he had to do.
I feel bad writing this post but am i better terminating? Or am i better off just dropping the man who can not take any responsibility towards his children as things seem so much easier when hes not laying about asking me well what have you done today when i never stop.

I’m after some advice on my unborn baby daddy I told him yesterday I don’t feel happy in the relationship anymore and that I don’t trust him and I know I will be doing all the work as in all the night feeds as he is clueless i don’t really want the baby to have his last name either do you think I’m being too harsh

I want to ask for a push present but im not sure what to ask for i prefer practical useful items I dont wear much jewelry or makeup, and I definitely dont like expensive brands like Louis vitton or Gucci, im just not that kind of woman to use that kind of stuff. I'd like to have stuff that I like to do but honestly I have not had time to enjoy almost any of my hobbies so I feel like it would be wasted. Does anyone have any ideas?

I’ve been dealing with some pretty intense loneliness ever since I had my second baby. I feel like I completely lost myself and I have nothing outside of being a mom. And honestly no motivation to do anything for myself. I don’t have many friends. My husband works a ton so he’s barely home. I feel like a shell of a human honestly. Like how the heck do I get myself back?!
