Please tell me it gets easier š¢ my 8 month old haaaaaates anything that isn't pureed and is now becoming quite distressed at mealtimes, which I desperately don't want! Does anyone have any tips/stories of light at the end of the tunnel?!
She loves yoghurt, so I've managed to disguise a couple of things with yoghurt recently (she tolerated a few spoonfuls of very yoghurty porridge this morning). She was previously enjoying purees that I made, but now seems to be going off the taste of those as well and crying when I offer her any.

Have you tried baby-led feeding? X

Food before one is just for fun- it's about trying different tastes and textures. Don't just give food she eats a lot of so that she's having a lot, she is still getting all she needs from milk. If you keep doing yogurt with everything she won't get used to other flavours. Plonk the food in front of her, let her explore. If some goes in her mouth, great, if not, great. We did purƩes under medical advice and ours didn't eat in much volume or anything more solid until she was past 10 months. If you're doing 3 meals a day, drop it to 2 until she's showing more interest. Use the solid starts app for serving advice if you want to pop a few more solids in front of her. I totally understand the stress, I found weaning super stressful but this is the advice I would give myself if I could go back in time - it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter if they eat or not eat right now, they're small, let them explore, let them learn, make mealtimes interesting sociable and fun. Don't put so much pressure on yourself!

Give them proper food! My first would never be spoon fed and loved eating proper food.
Itās all about texture and exploration at this age x

Give them proper food, one or two different things at a time. Sit with her and play with the food together, model touching it, smelling it, licking it and chewing it, make sure you make it fun with your facial expressions etc. Try different things each time and dont put any pressure on her to eat it.
Your job is to provide a range of nutritious food that is safely prepared to minimise choking (use the solid starts app if needed). Its up to her how much she does / doesnt eat. X
Should have clarified in the first post - we've been giving her (appropriate) solids from the beginning, BLW-style. She's very interested in things we are eating that she can't yet have, but has absolutely no interest in what's on her plate and now she's sad about it!
We model eating, we try to create a relaxed environment, we don't stare, we never force her. She's offered at least one solid with every meal alongside purees so she has choice.
She is left to play and explore with her food. We are super smiley and encouraging. But all of the sudden she's getting really distressed at mealtimes and doesn't even want to touch the food with her hands to play.

Just to add, I'm in the same boat right now with my 8 month old. He starts the meal quite happily and will shove all sorts into his mouth. We tend to mash up whatever we're eating and then serve it with sides of finger food. So it's a mixture of spoon fed and BLW. He will happily take a few spoonfuls but then at some point just gets upset/frustrated and starts crying until we clean him up and get him down.
I find it incredibly stressful as I am desperate for mealtimes to be a relaxing, bonding family time and I'm panicking that we're somehow creating negative associations with food.
It's so difficult, hoping it's just a phase, but we've been here for a month or two now ā¹ļø
Has anyone claimed for the funded hours under the impression that they would qualify but the not met the threshold? What happens? Do you just pay back the amount claimed or do you get fined/ in trouble?
I work in a supermarket and been there since May, they said they could only give me a 10hr contract but because Iām available 2 days a week they would give me more hours. When my daughter started at her childminder I asked to increase my contract to 16hrs and they said they donāt offer a contract for 16hrs but they said they would rotate me to 16hrs each week so I qualify and they have stuck to this.
My issue is when I take holiday Iām only paid at 10hrs and if they arenāt busy on my work days then they ask me to go home half an hour early as essentially Iām over my hours each week but 6hrs. Any advice? I spoke to the funded hours people and they were so rude and made me feel awful about myself.

He puts my daughter to sleep now cause she just wants to play when I try to. And I needed his car keys to get something from the car and they were in the room where heās putting my daughter to sleep. So I texted him and he didnāt reply like he usually does so I thought they both might asleep so I opened the door and I ended up waking f her up as soon as she was about to finally fall asleep and ruined it⦠now heās texting me saying how heās furious and that I ruined everything and wasting even more of his time having to pay her back to sleep and heās so angry⦠i admit I fucked up and shouldāve just waited but is he overreacting??

For example, you can't hug the children you coach. You have to try to remain a physical distance to cover yourself because things happen and he/she said won't cover your job. You're also not a teacher or school aid and don't want the kids looking at you as anything other than "coach." I imagine a 5 year old is more than excited to have an adult they're comfortable with as their school coach and will want everyone else to be jealous š especially this 5 year old.

My child 5 years old in Kindergarten has behavior problems in school possibly adhd and high anxiety and also hitting. We are in the process of getting an IEP but it takes 60 days. Our IEP meeting is oct 26. Every single day we bring him HES excited to go to school. Every day at 9:30am the school tells us we have to pick him up bc heās heās hitting and trying to elope and aggressive. The school starts at 8:30 and they say he canāt be in class for more than 30-1 hr.. why would I keep bringing him if heās in school for 1-2 hrs and the school says they donāt have anyone to be with him or help him and they wonāt let us help and be at the school. Im also waiting for aba services i also have him in okay therapy and donāt know what else to do besides keep him home wait for aba and call the school district or other resources to help have more support bc the school cant do anything for him.
