Queen charlotte hospital

Hi all, I’m currently 22 weeks and we had our 20 weeks scan two weeks ago, we’ve had 3 scans since all pointing out a new “abnormality” so we’ve been referred to queen Charlotte fetal medicine and fetal cardiac team. Any have any experiences, are the people nice?

I'm sorry that you're going through this.

I had a complex first pregnancy and the private Doctor I went to see for a scan, recommended Queen Charlotte's and King's.

The people at Queen Charlotte's are lovely. I found them very knowledgeable and the midwife was very empathetic. I was looking to be referred there this time, but I'm outside of London.

I hope all goes well for you. They should also be able to refer you to specialist counselling. Invaluable.

My sister went there as she was high risk. She speaks so highly of them. They’re attentive, empathetic and thorough. You’re in great hands.

I hope everything will be okay x

NHS

I’m really upset. Midwives were apparently off on annual leave so my first appointment wasn’t booked until I was 11 weeks. (I had to phone 3 times before they finally booked me) Unfortunately I wound up in hospital with some spotting and missed that appointment, but midwife had already put in to get my 12 week scan. The hospital didn’t book me in until today 13weeks 3 days. Baby was not up for waking up or getting into position for the downs test. They have said “oh we will get you the second trimester screening” the issue is that yes this checks for downs but that isn’t what I’m concerned about. Should I be worried about the fact I can’t be screened for Edward’s and Pataus in the second trimester? I feel like everything has gone wrong I’m so worried. Also I don’t know if it will help but this is the only view of baby we got today

Edit- also want to add that my midwife couldn’t do bloods at my booking appointment, they haven’t been done today and won’t be done now until I’m 16 weeks. Is this okay?

99th Centile Baby 🫣

Just had my 32 week scan to find out my baby is on the 99th Centile, with particularly high AC. He’s EWF is 5.2lb, I’m terrified about having to have a C section or the risk of shoulder dystopia, I’m only 5ft, and partner is 5’9 so no idea where this has all come from. Negative for GD, anyone on a similar trajectory?

C section scar pain

I am 3.5 weeks post section and in the last few days have started having frequent stabbing pains on the right hand side of my scar. It happens when walking or twisting - basically most movements! There is no redness/swelling/sign of infection, and I had no issues until now. Has anyone else experienced this?

Induction.

Was supposed to get my induction date before 40 weeks they’ve told me today it’s 3 days after my due date. Honestly so fed up, is there really any point I may aswell just go into labour naturally! Really expected it to be a day this week, just feel it’s pointless now
