What’s everyone’s experience with inductions ? I may be getting induced this Sunday down to baby not growing for the last 3 weeks and blood pressure issues but I had a complete natural labour with my first so now sure what to expect.

I had one at 39+1 due to high blood pressure. Cervix was closed when I chose misoprostol tablets over the pessary. Started on Monday night, took the full course of 8 tablets and 16 hours later was dilated to 2cm - pain was pretty manageable with paracetamol although had about an 8 hour wait for space in delivery suite to have waters broken so did have some stronger painkillers just to help me sleep before moving. Did end up having forceps delivery but likelihood of that is pretty much the same in inductions vs natural births (and I think less likely for second births anyway). Also ended up not having oxytocin drip as progressed enough naturally after waters broke
Overall the actual induction was really positive and quite calm. I just ate, drank, watches movies and got some sleep between having tablets delivered every 2 hours and CTG monitoring every 4 hours

I was induced nearly 3 weeks ago. It brought on labour super fast and my contractions were so fast I wasn’t prepared for it. The pain was horrendous but I’ve not had a birth without induction so cannot compare. My baby was back to back too so that added to the pain.

I got induced 10 days early and had a really positive experience, I was induced due to potential preeclampsia but I never had it in the end. I got checked and was already 1.5cm so they gave me the balloons to get me to 2cm for my waters to break and the balloons was the worst part of my whole labour experience! I ended up getting them taken out after 3 hours as I couldn’t cope with the pain but luckily it done the job and I was 2cm I got moved up to the labour and delivery where I had my waters broken then the oxytocin drip, I laboured for a few hours with some gas n air then decided to get the mobile epidural, I fell asleep for 2 hour and woke up fully dilated which the midwives said I can start pushing, I pushed for 10 minutes and my daughter was born! I had a second degree tear but my whole experience was so positive ( the balloons were the worst part) but everyone will tolerate them differently
This is my first child
Got induced Thursday night and got home Saturday night

I had a really good induction, went in Sunday at 11 with a really high cervix and only 2cm dilated, had half the course of misoprostol and my waters naturally broke in the night but contractions didn’t speed up.
Went to labour and delivery at 12 the next afternoon and was hooked up the hormone drip and got an epidural - can’t recommend one enough!!!
Baby boy was born 11 hours later with the help of some forceps but he was a big boy
I had a really good experience overall

Hi, I was in the exact same boat as you. First baby was natural, my recent baby I was induced with.
Was offered induction at 38 weeks with consultants recommendation due to high BP and reduced growth.
I was given the choice of the balloon or pessary (there were supply issues with the gel at my trust).
I went in Wednesday morning to be induced. The pessary stays in 24 hours and is then reviewed. When they reviewed me, it was starting to work but not enough to break my waters so I had a second pessary Thursday morning. Later that evening it fell out so a midwife reinserted it. I was reviewed again on the Friday afternoon and they found that my cervix was softer and 'almost there'. Id just hit the threshold to havd waters broken.
I then had to wait until Saturday midday for a bed on the delivery suite due to emergencies. My waters were broken around 4pm and I was given the oxytocin drip. Baby was here by 11pm Sat night.
My baby fell off the bed last night so rang 111, told to go to A&E and all fine. 111 said they were doing safeguarding assessment. What should I expect to happen? Not heard anything yet. Thank you

Did anyone have a bad experience with doctor at the hospital? I had my appointment today and I have waited an hour. I finally got called in and he asked me why I’m here? I felt like that was a red flag as you made me wait then asked me why I’m here then had the nerve to speak really fast without eye contact. He didn’t introduce me two nurses in the room. One nurse started testing my blood pressure using the machine while I had to figure to answer his question. I’ve told him to check my records and the nurse told him my BP. While this was going on me and my partner was looking at each other on how rude he was. Then started coming up with all these terminology and said I wasn’t anemic and to not worry about anything. I said the level dropped so it is concerning and he goes dw we can review it around 36 weeks. I said midwife said I need a drip and he goes I deal with that and to not worry and said is there anything else? Then had the cheekiness to say should have done this on telephone consultation. I was baffled and went.
