My little one is 6 weeks old at the moment and here are a few recommendations based on what I have found/experienced this time round😊
- I had Ewan for my older daughter and never used it! I have a nightlight with white noise from Amazon instead this time and I use it every night. Il add the link to it. It’s bright enough to do nappy changes without turning the main light on
- I still haven’t used the bouncer for my 6 week old.
- I have the bath changing unit on wheels which is very good and it’s easy on the back when doing baths.
- Love to dream swaddle is a newborn essential for me!
- Lots and lots of muslins I highly recommend, especially if you have a sicky baby.
- Tommee tippee electric nail file is also good as they are often born with sharp nails which need filing quite soon

Ive got a 15 week old - i highly rec9mmend the momcosy klean pal pro bottle washer. Id be lost without it but it is a luxury. I also love my tommee tippee perfect prep.

The love to dream swaddles
Tommee tippee ultra light dummies (theyre the really ugly looking ones 🤣)

Stretchy wrap for carrying baby especially around the house if they dont want to be put down. You can get ones that go on like a tshirt such as the caboo close.

White noise machine. Highly recommend the dream egg d11max. The battery life is insane. It has white noise but also shushing which my baby loves.

We got a cheap manual bouncer from nuby. We started using it around 9 weeks just for when im doing the bottles rtc and id be lost without it now.

Frida mom humidifier - I had a super congested baby who.has also now had her first cold too and it was a life saver.

Describing the birth…

If you are going to be rude or insensitive to others, don’t comment on this post.

if you gave birth via caesarean, would it bother you if someone asked if you gave birth ā€œnaturally or by caesareanā€ (nothing to do with whether you were medicated).

When I gave birth I always answered ā€œvaginallyā€ to others and they seemed uncomfortable 🤣 there was nothing natural about that shit show lmao

PPD please help

Hi, not expecting a diagnosis obviously but maybe just some opinions and or advice. I have a nearly 4 month old. I’ve been to my doctor re my mental health and they have told me to do a self referral for some talk therapy but it looks like it could take a few months. I’m really struggling but I don’t know if it’s a normal amount as a new first time mum or something more. I feel very low a lot of the time, crying most days but not every day, feeling isolated (no mum friends), feeling like I’m not enjoying being a mum as much as I hoped, missing my old life and freedom, struggling with patience and the constant crying and fussing, feeling like it’s Groundhog Day, jealous of my husbands life, feeling like I’m not doing a good enough job, worrying I’m not doing things well enough and it will negatively affect her, only feeling better when I have people with me who know about kids and can step in and help eg in laws etc. I have tried hard to work on being positive, I get out for multiple walks every day, I’ve joined a sensory class, I’m on this app but I feel like none of it is really working or doing much. I feel like I’m ticking boxes of things that should help but I’m not making any mum friends and honestly a lot of the time it feels like I’m masking. Sometimes I get so upset and cry and I can’t really explain why….

Pushchair Advice

After lots of research, shop visits and trying different options, we’ve narrowed it down to the Joolz Aer², Silver Cross Nia and Bugaboo Butterfly.

We’re looking for one lightweight pushchair that is sturdy enough for everyday use, easy to carry as we live somewhere with no lift, and practical for travel too. We’d really prefer not to buy multiple pushchairs for different purposes, so ideally we want something that can work from newborn through to later toddler years.

We have tried all 3 and I feel in terms of sturdiness, Bugaboo would be the most sturdy, followed by Nia and then Joolz Aer2. Aesthetically and colour wise, I do prefer the Nia design.

Has anyone used any of these as their main everyday pushchair from birth? Would love to hear your experience and recommendations.

Nursery

Hi, I am going to be a first time mum in December, at the moment we have a double bed in the spare room (which is going to be the nursery) my initial plan was to sell the bed, do people think this is a good idea.
Or during the night do you think it’s good to have in case baby won’t settle, and I can sleep in the spare room with him.
Preferably I would want to sleep in the same bed as my partner so hopefully won’t need it.
I just wondered what other people did?

Co-sleeping

I’m feeling quite guilty.. I’m exclusively breastfeeding and my baby is 10 weeks now, my husband is in the navy also which means me and baby alone most night. I’ve found myself just ending up co sleeping just because it happens, I feed then fall asleep and that’s how I sleep. When he was smaller and a new born or if me or if me and my husband are both in the bed I always prefer him and feel better with him in the next to me but when it’s just me is it okay to co sleep. Any tips on how to stay safe? I feel guilty because all my family hate it and the idea of it and I do too but non of them have ever breastfed.
