My son will be 18m old next month and I want to start potty training. Any tips from younger potty training moms? Thanks!

My daughter will be 18 months in a few days. We started to introduce the potty things are not going well. She seems afraid to go pee or poop without the diaper on. We’ve been having a lot of nakey butt time to try to get rid of that. Let’s just say I’m out of paper towels 😅. I will also take any guidance

I potty trained my daughter at 19 months and am planning on doing my son at the same age. I just used the Oh Crap method, she was fully trained by the 3rd day and out of overnight diapers about 3 months later.

We had an attempt at potty training (3 day weekend) at 16 months, and my son peed but could not keep consistency once the work week started.
We kept the potty around in view, talked about it, and read books about it after that so he was familiar with it. He showed interest when I would use the bathroom, so I would let him in there while I peed and narrate the process. He would do the flush for fun and wash hands with me.
At 20 months we did a week long potty training session where he was pants-less with the potty chair in the livingroom and he did really well (with pee! Poop has been harder to teach, but he usually only poops 1x per day). It's been about 3 weeks since then and we found that he just doesn't have the ability to pull pants up & down yet, so now whenever we're home he is just in a shirt and long socks and pees in the potty whenever he needs to. He's in a pull up for naps, trips out of the house, and a regular diaper at bedtime.
We would give him 1 chocolate chip for every pee in the potty...

...and a little icecream for a poop. (If anyone has suggestions for kids who are shy poopers I'm all ears! He keeps doing it when we leave the room and tries to sit up before he's done, so it falls out of the potty 🥲 I'd imagine it will come easier with time.)
By day 5 he was peeing well and not really expecting the chocolate chip anymore, so we stopped that and just gave him praise.
I guess if you're ok with your kid naked at home this is what's working for us. It's all a process. He won't be naked forever lol

We potty trained our daughter at 18 months in a weekend, had her naked the whole weekend and was pretty successful. We tried with our son at 18 months, was a disaster 🫠 we ended up stopping and trying again the weekend after he turned 2 and it was much more successful - he’s still not picked it up fully but a lot better than when we tried at 18 months. So just be aware that it might not be successful!
But also, the first day with our daughter I was waiting every half an hour but soon realised she was going about every 13 minutes so by the end of the day I was putting her on a lot more regularly. We had loads and loads of accidents that day. The next day she did so much better because I’d realised she was needing a wee every 13 mins and by lunch time I think we’d maybe had one accident? And then over the week built up the time between toilet trips. My son was very inconsistent with when he would wee - sometimes he’d do a wee, one 5 mins later, then not do one for 2 hours 🤷♀️

I tried my daughter at 20 months but it didn’t go well at all. Gave it a rest until she turned two years old and it was completely different when we started again. She’s 2.5 and is completely potty trained now, no nappies overnight either. We followed the oh crap method. Hope it goes well
My daughter started preschool 2 weeks ago. When I picked her up one day last week her key worker said she hadn’t ate her lunch and asked how her eating was at home. Today when I picked her up she said she hadn’t ate her lunch again and said if she continues to not eat she’ll have to just do mornings. My issue is she went on to say she’s SO small so she can’t go without eating (with such an attitude) and just basically started making digs about her. I looked in her lunch box once we’d left and she’d eaten a cheese sandwich, sausage roll, babybel, yoghurt, strawberries and blueberries. All she had left was crisps and a belvita bar. They also get 2 snacks from preschool so I feel like that’s more than enough for a 2 year old. I don’t understand why she would say she’d eaten nothing and make such a big deal when she ate majority of it. She then carried on making digs about her saying she’s stubborn (what 2 year old isn’t) and they have to tell her no a lot. I say making digs again because she wasn’t just telling me she had an attitude and was basically just complaining about her. It’s left a really bad taste in my mouth and when I asked my toddler if she had a good day she said no (she always comes out happy saying she’s had a good day) and when I asked her why she said my teacher

I'm struggling. I take my boys outside every single day but they're still so full of energy. They don't stay very busy inside and I can't get much done. What are some activities or toys that keep your kids busy around these ages? We read books daily and they like to pretend to "clean" lately but im looking for other ideas please!

I have a 2yo toddler and I’m thinking about getting him a reward chart. I’ve done a bit of reading and it looks like there are split opinions on whether they are good or bad for development. I’d welcome any advice people have their own experience or research ♥️

I'll try to make it all simple.
I have 3 (adult) brothers who have learning difficulties. Limited friends, live alone.
My dad recently got remarried.
1 of my brothers really dislikes my dad's partner - too much has happened to write here, but basically he sees her as controlling and a bully.
Organising Christmas last year was a nightmare as my dad's partner refused to be in the same room as my brother. Said she never wanted to see him again.
The rest of the family thought this was a complete overreaction (given my brother has never said/done anything nasty/malicious.) They were talking about a Christmas meal, but excluding my brother. So we said NO, we are not leaving him alone on christmas day and the rest of the family wanted him there. We basically said; Christmas is at ours, but we are not having anyone excluded, so you either come together or not at all.
Probably not the best way to handle it but I was so pissed off.
My dad and his partner booked a cottage away for 2 weeks, to see her daughter who lives 3 hrs away by car. So choosing not to spend any of Christmas with us at all.
So my brothers came down to ours for Christmas (because my daf and his partner weren't even trying to resolve the issue)- it was lovely.
I alternate Christmas day with my partner- one year with my family, the next with his etc. So this year it's his turn.
Usually my dad would spend Christmas day with my brothers. But he has told me they have booked the cottage again and seeing her daughter again.
This means my brothers will be alone on Christmas day.
They don't drive and they don't live very near each other. They don't have jobs and are some of the kindest people I've ever met.
They don't deserve to be excluded. They don't cook either.
Do you think what my dad and his partner have done sounds fair?
