My baby is now 6 months and I know I need to start giving him solids but I’m not sure what the first food should be. I’m a bit scared of getting it wrong.

Our pediatrician recommended starting with vegetables first for a while before fruits, so they don’t develop a preference for only fruits. And it’s been working really well for us she’s been eating solids since four months and hasn’t become a picky eater yet lol but no matter what food you pick it won’t be the wrong choice. Your baby might be confused at first but they’ll get used to it c:

I personally think it’s a minefield with advice and you can’t get it wrong! Try to stay as chilled as you can, there’s so many different approaches you can do so read up on them maybe and decide but with my first and second I’ve chosen to do a vegetable led approach as babies palette is used to more sweet things so it’s good to get them used to more bitter foods. But you can’t mix it in with some sweet. Maybe just pick a few vegetables you like to cook each week then you could blend it up and offer as a puree, then eventually when you’re comfortable to incorporate more textures you could mash it and offer some of the finger food alternative on the side I.e brocolli puree and brocolli floret steamed x
My daughter started preschool 2 weeks ago. When I picked her up one day last week her key worker said she hadn’t ate her lunch and asked how her eating was at home. Today when I picked her up she said she hadn’t ate her lunch again and said if she continues to not eat she’ll have to just do mornings. My issue is she went on to say she’s SO small so she can’t go without eating (with such an attitude) and just basically started making digs about her. I looked in her lunch box once we’d left and she’d eaten a cheese sandwich, sausage roll, babybel, yoghurt, strawberries and blueberries. All she had left was crisps and a belvita bar. They also get 2 snacks from preschool so I feel like that’s more than enough for a 2 year old. I don’t understand why she would say she’d eaten nothing and make such a big deal when she ate majority of it. She then carried on making digs about her saying she’s stubborn (what 2 year old isn’t) and they have to tell her no a lot. I say making digs again because she wasn’t just telling me she had an attitude and was basically just complaining about her. It’s left a really bad taste in my mouth and when I asked my toddler if she had a good day she said no (she always comes out happy saying she’s had a good day) and when I asked her why she said my teacher

I'm struggling. I take my boys outside every single day but they're still so full of energy. They don't stay very busy inside and I can't get much done. What are some activities or toys that keep your kids busy around these ages? We read books daily and they like to pretend to "clean" lately but im looking for other ideas please!

I have a 2yo toddler and I’m thinking about getting him a reward chart. I’ve done a bit of reading and it looks like there are split opinions on whether they are good or bad for development. I’d welcome any advice people have their own experience or research ♥️

I'll try to make it all simple.
I have 3 (adult) brothers who have learning difficulties. Limited friends, live alone.
My dad recently got remarried.
1 of my brothers really dislikes my dad's partner - too much has happened to write here, but basically he sees her as controlling and a bully.
Organising Christmas last year was a nightmare as my dad's partner refused to be in the same room as my brother. Said she never wanted to see him again.
The rest of the family thought this was a complete overreaction (given my brother has never said/done anything nasty/malicious.) They were talking about a Christmas meal, but excluding my brother. So we said NO, we are not leaving him alone on christmas day and the rest of the family wanted him there. We basically said; Christmas is at ours, but we are not having anyone excluded, so you either come together or not at all.
Probably not the best way to handle it but I was so pissed off.
My dad and his partner booked a cottage away for 2 weeks, to see her daughter who lives 3 hrs away by car. So choosing not to spend any of Christmas with us at all.
So my brothers came down to ours for Christmas (because my daf and his partner weren't even trying to resolve the issue)- it was lovely.
I alternate Christmas day with my partner- one year with my family, the next with his etc. So this year it's his turn.
Usually my dad would spend Christmas day with my brothers. But he has told me they have booked the cottage again and seeing her daughter again.
This means my brothers will be alone on Christmas day.
They don't drive and they don't live very near each other. They don't have jobs and are some of the kindest people I've ever met.
They don't deserve to be excluded. They don't cook either.
Do you think what my dad and his partner have done sounds fair?
