That completely sounds like mine. I also have an 3 year old and a 1 year old. It is so tiring (mentally) and my 3 year old goes nursery too (3days a week now) which she does get tired once I pick her up on the way. But yeah, through out the day, it’s non-stop and my 1 year old is all over. Can’t win. I lose it after a while because I just want a breather and just to have a minute to myself but no.
I say also, maybe try out quiet time with your eldest when your youngest is napping.
Hope this helps. 😊

I know this might sound crazy but that does seems like a very long time for littles to be awake have you tried pushing that bedtime forward because being over tired actually makes bedtime a million times harder! For reference my twins are almost 4 and baby is 8 months everyone is up at 5:30-6am and bedtime at 6:30pm for baby (with 2 naps) and 7:15pm for twins with no naps. If not take a look at their diet. If non of that works please just ask them what caffeine they been taking so I can have the same energy for my kids all day 🤭🥰❤️

If getting up at 5/6 then I would be saying bed time routine starts at 6.

Look at diet, no sugar or additives.

No or limited screen time.

Reducing all stimulation leading up to bed time, dimmed lights quieter sounds.

Bath, then a rub down with moisturiser (sounds weird but its about bringing their awareness back to their body)

Essential oils like lavender/roman chamomile (can be added to bath)

Night time vitamins/kids night time rescue remedy (only 3yo)

Is it normal to feel this way?

Baby is currently 4 weeks old…I love her to bits but I DREAD her wake windows, as horrible as that sounds😖
She’s rarely content or happy when she’s awake. If she’s awake she’s crying or screaming. I actually get scared for when she might wake up because she gets herself in such a state.
Has anyone else felt this way? Or am I just an awful mum lol.

Im hoping this gets better once baby is a bit older & can interact more with things/play/laugh etc

Hate the newborn stage

Does anyone else absolutely hate the newborn stage? So many of my friends love to borrow him for "newborn snuggles" or whatever but I just can't bring myself to care and just leave him to sleep in his crib as much as possible. I just feel so disconnected from my baby... and in hindsight, I had this with my first 2 as well - I keep them alive but wouldn't say I truly bond with them until 6 months+...

Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I can't openly talk about it with friends/family without serious judgement though I finally admitted it to my husband last night - I don't think I ever admitted it (even to myself) with my first 2. Is something wrong with me?

Guilt

I had my first ultrasound and I found out my due date is May 11 and my daughter’s birthday is May 9th. I cried for about 15min straight lbvs I was already feeling guilty then I find this out on top of that I have had ZERO energy. I haven’t been wanting to play with my daughter and I feel like a shitty mom. My husband has been stepping up a lot and playing with her but now she seems to have gotten so much closer to him 😭😭😭😭 She’s like all
About her dad now and I feel heartbroken 😭

I know it’s early days…

Baby’s 5 days old and will not sleep in the next to me no matter what we try. I’ve tried rocking it, hot water bottle to warm it, swaddled him, sleeping bag and sleepyhead (controversial I know).
Any suggestions, just want some hours sleep🥲

Baby cries when held by anyone but mum and dad

My LO is 6 months old. We live in London with no immediate family close by. When we do visit, LO has mostly cried when anyone else has held her.
I don’t like seeing her distressed. So when she cries I prefer to take her back to soothe her. My partners sister once wanted to keep hold of her to soothe her herself and LO ended up crying herself to sleep.
I’ve been thinking that she will grow put of this when she builds confidence and independence and not to force and distress her if she cries when held.
It’s difficult though as i feel like my partners family think I dont want anyone to hold her and im controlling for not allowing her to cry.
Any advice? Or is normal to just let them cry?
