Baby cries when held by anyone but mum and dad

My LO is 6 months old. We live in London with no immediate family close by. When we do visit, LO has mostly cried when anyone else has held her.
I don’t like seeing her distressed. So when she cries I prefer to take her back to soothe her. My partners sister once wanted to keep hold of her to soothe her herself and LO ended up crying herself to sleep.
I’ve been thinking that she will grow put of this when she builds confidence and independence and not to force and distress her if she cries when held.
It’s difficult though as i feel like my partners family think I dont want anyone to hold her and im controlling for not allowing her to cry.
Any advice? Or is normal to just let them cry?

Definitely not normal to let them cry. At 6 months she barely knows she's a separate person to you. Babies gain confidence by having secure attachment. Go with your instinct and your gut xx

My lg was very much like this at that age, she still can refuse to go to ppl she isnt sure of.
Honestly, she feels secure with you and your partner and your instincts are spot on. I dont believe in a baby crying unnecessarily, if they want and need mum/dad then so be it.
Let ppl think whatever, at the end of the day a baby who feels secure and has a strong connection with their parents will grow to be confident.

Our lg is 18 months now, still can be a fuss pot around ppl but happily spends time at the childminders 3x a week, loves being around other children and is confident in herself. X

My toddler is nearly 16 months old and still cries, but not like this anymore. Now he’s just very selective with people, and that includes family and friends.

Hate the newborn stage

Does anyone else absolutely hate the newborn stage? So many of my friends love to borrow him for "newborn snuggles" or whatever but I just can't bring myself to care and just leave him to sleep in his crib as much as possible. I just feel so disconnected from my baby... and in hindsight, I had this with my first 2 as well - I keep them alive but wouldn't say I truly bond with them until 6 months+...

Has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I can't openly talk about it with friends/family without serious judgement though I finally admitted it to my husband last night - I don't think I ever admitted it (even to myself) with my first 2. Is something wrong with me?

Guilt

I had my first ultrasound and I found out my due date is May 11 and my daughter’s birthday is May 9th. I cried for about 15min straight lbvs I was already feeling guilty then I find this out on top of that I have had ZERO energy. I haven’t been wanting to play with my daughter and I feel like a shitty mom. My husband has been stepping up a lot and playing with her but now she seems to have gotten so much closer to him 😭😭😭😭 She’s like all
About her dad now and I feel heartbroken 😭

I know it’s early days…

Baby’s 5 days old and will not sleep in the next to me no matter what we try. I’ve tried rocking it, hot water bottle to warm it, swaddled him, sleeping bag and sleepyhead (controversial I know).
Any suggestions, just want some hours sleep🥲
