My husband is quite "high-up" at work and is constantly in important meetings and high pressure situations. However, our 3 month old has caught his first cold and it's been incredibly hard for me. He on the other hand is very calm about the situation, says it's just a cold and that it'll pass.
To give a full picture- I am currently on mat leave, our baby has been very unsettled for the past few days and it's beginning to get to me. I am severely sleep deprived (I try not to wake my husband because he works full time and I breastfeed)
It got to a point where I completely lost it at my husband yesterday because I had asked him whether he could please take one day off work to support me with the baby because I genuinely need a break.
He told me that it's a very busy and important time at work and that it would not be possible for him to take one day.
I am a solicitor myself and I don't agree with him at all. Had the roles been reversed, I would've taken the day off without hesitation.I don't expect him to drop everything every time our baby gets a cold but I am a first time mum and our baby is barely 3 months old. It has been very hard for me to deal with and I am at breaking point.
We don't have support or family nearby and I feel like I have noone to talk to. I just need his support for one day so I can get myself back on track. Am I being unreasonable here? I feel so alone in dealing with this.

With little ones cold what are you using to help little one? IMO I don't think your being unreasonable to ask for help. You got this mama

What does your husband do childcare wise when he gets home? Does he take baby off your hands so you can relax for a bit? Does he do bath/bedtime routine?
How much time off did he take for paternity leave?
Basically, is he a hands-on dad?

If you both have good jobs and you can afford it, why don't you pay someone to come to your home and watch baby for a few hrs while you have a nap.

as women and mothers we have to do whatever Is best for us we are usually the ones who hold the house together you need to do whats best for you and you need a break to be able to be the best version of yourself. If your husband is busy working and he's also a hands on dad then the best thing to do is compromise and get support elsewhere even if you have to pay for the support. Sometimes, we women have to do what we have to do to survive these trenches. Good luck, and i hope you get the well-deserved rest you need.

Not unreasonable at all. Sounds like this isn't about just a cold. Sounds like you are seeing that you have no PARTNER and you are hurting. Tell him all of this. If he still cant find a day for you then you know what to do. You ARE in this alone and you need to do it. Even if it is just finding a day care for a few hours a week..... You need this. If he has a problem with the daycare then he should step up. I am starting to believe that when it comes to actual families men run, emotionally, physically or mentally. And they say we are the weaker sex?!?!? Ha!!! Momma you are doing wonderful and it's bs your man is making feel like crap for asking for help. Men think their paycheck gets them out of helping with so many things. When he isn't working does he let you take naps and such? Does he not give you a day on his days off? If he never gets days off does the govt know this? Men. 1 mil excuses not to, hard to find that one reason too huh? Idk if your man sucks or not but he sure isn't helping you!! Sending lov
All I see online or from friends is that they can’t put their babies down as they are clingers and constantly want their mums,
My baby is 8 weeks and when I try and comfort him he fusses until I put him down making me feel like I’m not his safe place or he even likes me and it’s making me feel like a useless mess

Anyone have tips for boys on the potty. My Lb is 14m and I’ve been trying to get him to use the potty since about 11m, he hates it and only sat fully clothed but we’re now getting somewhere and he will sit on the toilet but he will always stand and sit on it backwards?
My first was pooping on the toilet only from 1y and I would like the same for him but his poops arent routine he just goes when he goes and he’s yet to even wee on the toilet so just looking to see if boys are any different with toilet training and if there’s any tips to give :)

Hiya ladies, I’m stuck at the moment I don’t know what to do. This morning i took a tumble down the stairs in my flat, gone to a&e and am now on crutches in a lot of pain. Thankfully i didn’t have my little one but still quite a scare as that could have happened.
I now don’t know what to do. My mothers offered for me to stay at hers for a couple of days until I can manage the pain and to help me do little things such as make and sterilise bottles etc. My partner doesn’t want to stay at my mums, but he’s at work and I will be struggling to do everything on my own. What do I do?
