Journaling?

Any mamas journal?? My therapist recommended I start. I feel weird essentially talking to myself. Does it get less weird the longer you do it?? Does it make a difference to you.? Any advice is great. Thank you

YES!! YES!! I journal every day. I highly recommend it. Maybe just start with something random every day and then start to really dig deeper šŸ˜… it's a huge relief!

I love to journal and I find it therapeutic. Sometimes its easier to write my feelings than to say them out loud to someone, but it really helps to get out your feelings one way or the other. Sometimes I write about things I'm trying to manifest, or goals for the year, etc. Imagine your talking to a friend and maybe it wont feel so weird like you're talking to yourself

I kept a therapy journal for a while and it helps me stay grounded. I write down everything that happened in therapy. Then I would reach out to a friend to talk about my struggles and see it from an outsider’s perspective. Sometimes, I enter my entries into ChatGPT to see if AI can pick up any patterns.

As for my personal journal. It’s more of a log of everything happening in my marriage. I separate it into financial, major incidents, communication/pattern, and parenting. Each entry has a list of date, location, who were present, and exactly what happened. I look back on the logs and pick up patterns in my marriage. They provide me with reassurance that I am not crazy (my husband defends my enmeshed in law’s disrespectful behaviors by making me the scapegoat). Also if shit hits the fan, this will help me in a divorce.

I love it. I like doing gratitude every morning. I have my grandmas journals that she kept/passed down before she died. It’s nice to read about her as a mom and my dad/his brothers when they were younger (or myself when I pop into them every now and then, like ā€œI remember that day!ā€). Some days are boring but others are nice.

Yes. It helps. I usually just start with the first thought that pops in my mind that just won't stop nagging me. And see what it takes me. It doesn't need to make sense. You just have to get out what's stuck in your head. It will help you analyze your feelings and why you feel the way that you do.

I find it easier to make it like a letter to someone… I personally make all my journaling a conversation with God.

But yes it definitely makes a difference in processing emotions and decisions and everything!

How can I share this with my husband?

I wanna tell my husband about a way that he's making me feel, but I want to say it in a way he's not gonna flip it or get defensive. So some back story our sex life is ok but not as frequent as HE would like it. I haven't ever really been a sexual person like it's good, but I truly feel I could go without it for the rest of my life. Plus with some feelings of resentment towards him and having such a busy life and stress on me I'm often not in the mood or just exhausted. Now it really hit me last night that I often don't do the things I want or enjoy when I finally have free time after the kids go to bed, and the reason is because he feels like anytime that is finally free is our time and we could be being intimate or whatever. But that leaves me usually feeling like if I say I'm too tired to have sex then I should be too tired to crochet or read a book, etc. so I should just not do what I want and go to bed because otherwise I have to hear him say that I'm just not prioritizing him. And I just don't feel like I should look at the time and see that I have an hour to myself finally but before I can give it to myself I need to give HIM some of that time also, usually leaving me with no time or like 10min. How can I tell him that this is how I feel, it's been giving me anxiety for the last 5 years living like this.

Gym time

I'm two months postpartum and I want to start working out. I'm trying to figure out how to ease my way back into the gym. I was thinking about Chole Ting, but her workout videos are pretty intense. I'm also a single mom, so I'm trying to figure out how to fit in workout time between feedings.

Happy maternity leave

While I’m on maternity leave, my husband has been telling people at work about the conflicts in our family, and one of his friends suggested that he buy me a ticket to Ukraine so I could go there and die. It sounds almost absurd to say it out loud, but the funny part is that I actually found out about this from my husband himself. How am I supposed to feel about that?

Do Real friends exist?

I honestly can say I’m truly hurting today. I’m always the person that reaches out, check on others, give my last no matter what I have going on. To go from have friends supporting you during pregnancy, being there for you, there after baby is born to just dipping is heartbreaking and really hurts. I may not be able to go every
Where all the time but you can still invite me. It’s crazy to me how people just up n leave like it’s nothing. I’ve tried to make new friends but honestly it’s not easy after being hurt so much I’m truly tired of the friendship hurt šŸ˜šŸ’”
