Hey all, so I’ve not worked in 7 years due to multiple reasons, I left my previous job because I was fleeing DV, then lockdown happened, then I met my husband and had my twins, I feel into a deep depression, was diagnosed with ptsd, adhd, I struggle to get out, struggle with daily life but keep going for my husband and kids but recently ive been feeling I really want to get back into work, im trained as a senior career, working with dementia and end of life, I don’t know where to start anymore, I’ve lost all confidence and it’s been so long that will I get it will I pick up where I left off, who’s going to hire someone who has no confidence, I used to be able to speak to anyone and everyone, now if anyone speaks to me a stutter and panic then don’t know what to say to the simplest of things
Don’t know what I’m looking for, has anyone else had this and overcome it?
Xx

I feel you.
Maybe look at getting a part time temporary work in a field that’s a bit more casual to build up your confidence again.
Or volunteer somewhere even if it’s one day a week just to get yourself communicating and sociable again.
it’s so much easier to go from one job into another because your already out their in the world.
it’s totally understandable feeling this way when you’ve been a bit secluded.
just know your not alone

I returned back to work after 8 years. I was working in insurance before and started care work with no experience. It has really helped my confidence that I really didn’t have before. Bizarre really as I’m painfully shy and have to go into strangers homes and talk to them. They are always crying out for staff and especially with your experience. I only work ten hours a week which I think helps not make me feel overloaded.

My mom is a carer and seems the company she works for is always employing new carers ☺️ you still have experience, even if it was seven years ago. It's not uncommon for women to have a career break to have children. It doesn't mean you're any less skilled.
You will do refresher training courses anyway to bring you up to speed, that's part of care work so I wouldn't worry.

It's great that you are thinking of going back to work. You have a lot of skills and transferrable skills. Being out of work for any period of time can lead to imposter syndrome setting in.
I'm an EMCC certified coach specialising in careers. I have held professional roles for 20 years. I'd be happy to offer you 1 pro bono session. Send me a DM.

Work on you and do things to make yourself feel good. Some suggestions are exercise, meditate, have therapy, get a new haircut. They will not cure your problem but will help to make you feel better about yourself.

Sorry to hear this, I feel like the best thing you can do is work on you. Same as the lady above, exercise, eating well doing things that make you feel good! A new haircut or colour can really help too, hope it helps! X

Inspired by a post earlier this week. I am so excited for my little man to crawl all over his new playpen while I cook breakfast without constantly worrying about my big dogs running around next him. I am sleep deprived/ depressed/ and really struggling mentally so if theres something i can use to help my sanity I am all for it. Mornings have been extra hard but I am looking forward to using this tomorrow 😊 highly recommend!! If you feel the need to judge, just move on 😀

Hi mamas, my baby is 12 weeks and hates going on a walk in the pram with the bassinet insert. She’ll sit in there for like 10 minutes before crying and making a big fuss and then I have to hold her all the way home in one hand and pushing the pram in the other which is not very ideal when I’m not near home😅 I’ve tried baby carrying but I really just want her to stay in the pram. Any tips please? Is it just a matter of time thing?

Heyyy, my little man will only sleep tonight if he is being held, currently 3am and me and partner have just swapped duties as his personal bed for the night 😂 anyone else in the same situation?

I know they want us to brush our babies teeth once they start coming in. I head that having milk before sleep can increase risk of cavities in babies. I brush daily but then I give a bottle before bedtime which I feel like is kinda pointless to brush if I'm gonna give the bottle anyway. So I thought maybe I can transition her to have her night time bottle and then bath and brush teeth. But I don't know if she's too young for that. What are your thoughts. She sleeps through the night the night time feeds are not involved in this.

I see so many women on social media claiming to be having sex as soon as the 6 week check is done, and I'm wondering if this is the norm? My libidos has been through the floor for months. 😴
