I have a one year old and my husband is a good father and supports around the house when asked but it's the mental load of remembering things and having to do food shopping and thinking what to cook and then cooking and tidying/cleaning but the house is never tidied. We have struggled a bit financially as my pay has gone down and I earn more but I'm back to work next week and hoping October will be my first full pay or majority full pay again. Anyway I just need a system of cleaning/tidying and batch cooking because I'm just often feel overwhelmed. Like I'm laying in bed now hungry as there is nothing but pasta and oats to eat. I batch cook for our son but not very good at doing it for us.

Do you work full time?

Girl you need someone else to help you even just for a bit to get you back on your feet, friends/family- its a lot being a mum, we all understand! Make sure you call out when youre drowning x

Watch motivational videos to get into a routine with discipline. I have a 3 month old, not close to any family and my husband also helps with baby and house but not in a fully balanced way. As women , even though we work, we often unfortunately still get the bulk of house duty too. What helps me are watching those videos, mentally preparing all the things I’m going to do that day/week. And I also check them off the list so I feel accomplished each day and look forward to making my list smaller. But make sure you’re getting your sleep, meals, and water in!

One thing that works for me is to clean the kitchen every night no matter how tired..and also tidying family area etc.and also putting out any supplies needed for my one year old. I keep breakfasts simple with eggs toast. Haven't figured out batch prep but cleaning seems doable..also I don't hv a schedule for cleaning..me or my husband vacuum one room/floor at a time with a handheld. Hope this helps

I used a cook in my early days, right up until baby was 2 years old. When she slept through the night I managed batch cooking twice a week- take out twice a week. And split the house cleaning based on my cycle and energy levels.
Hope it work out for you x
Quick question as a first time mum, is it normal for your baby to scream when being held by other people? My baby is 4 1/2 months old never had a problem being held by other people and it seems like overnight she will only be held by me and my husband if anyone else tries to hold her or pick her up including grandparents who she sees very regularly, she will just scream and cry and it takes me awhile to calm her down. I’m really hoping it’s just a phase but I don’t quite know what to do to get through it or if there’s anything I can do to be helping the situation it’s frustrating for us because it means we can’t hand her off to people to have a rest! but it’s also I’m sure frustrating for her grandparents who can’t hold her or have a cuddle with her. It also gets very awkward when they ask if they can hold her and all I want to say is no because I can see what’s about to happen…..

Hiya mamas!
Our neighbour’s turned 13 and I’m looking to get her a present, it’s been like 11 years since I was 13 so i have no clue what teens like nowadays😭😭 anyone got girls around the same age that can guide me towards something she’d like. I was thinking skincare or something but I’m sure her family already got her that, something adhd friendly would be nice as well which is why i was thinking them like craft kits which i enjoyed around that age but i think they’re advertised for younger kids so idk.
Thank you in advance💕

My mum looks after my kids two days a week for me. One is in school so it's just for an hour after school the other is pre school age. I use a childminder two days a week and I have one day off a week. My mum initially offered to help me but now all she does is complain. She is also very demanding, expects me to drop things for her at the weekend, buy her coffees and food when we are out and never says thank you and just moans about every aspect of looking after my kids. I've said I'll start using the childminder more but then she says no. I'm really confused as what to do. Has anyone else had a similar experience? We don't get free childcare here because we are in Wales. Thanks

Hi girls🩷
What snacks are you giving your little ones? I’m looking for healthy convenient ideas… I’m always worried raw fruit and veg is a bit of a shocking hazard still so wondering what others are giving? I’d really rather not have to cook for a quick snack
Also if you’re giving snacks what time of day are you offering these? X

Long story short my partner and I only get one day together every week which is a Sunday. He looks after our girl on Mondays while I work and then he is working the rest of the week (long hours and not home until 10.30pm most nights)
Last Sunday he went fishing all day Sunday, last night he sprung it on me he was coming with me today to a party as he’s going fishing again (left 3.30am and said he will be back for 2pm) it’s now almost 4pm and he’s still not back and I’ve not seen him since yesterday morning briefly before he left for work.
Next Sunday he is out again all day fishing with his mate.
At the moment I am extremely run down with a chest infection and just feeling like I’m being pushed to one side. I understand he wants to be able to do his own things too on his day off but I’m starting to lose my patience because I am so exhausted and the thought of waiting 3 more weeks until I can have any sort of ‘rest’ is killing me.
I don’t think he is taking my feelings or needs into consideration but perhaps I am being selfish in wanting a rest? It’s not helping that our girl is so full on at the moment (22 months) who also has a chest infection and going through a sleep regression waking multiple times a night 😩 I am exhausted

I feel like I have failed as a mum, at the moment, my son is quite angry for example, when I pop him in the buggy to make his food ( currently have a grain mites problem so putting him on the floor isn’t a good move, he will mostly be on the floor and playing otherwise) , he’s screaming at me as if he’s in pain(he’s not) until I pick him up, sometimes I put Bluey on to calm him down, but that doesn’t always work, at the moment I’m putting Bluey on at meal times because he is such a wiggle worm he won’t stay still or eat unless it’s on , I wanted to use the gentle parenting approach, but there is last week has been so difficult. He’s been pulling my hair and it feels like means to do it, out of pain I had a go at him and walked away, I felt so bad for shouting since he doesn’t know better , he’s been screaming, He’s been getting angry, He’s been missing one of his naps almost every day, it feels like Bluey is my coparent, speaking of parents his dad is constantly working and doesn’t take care of him for more than half an hour at a time so it’s just me and him.
two days ago I burnt out completely and got sick because of it I called my sister over and she’s been amazing and my dad took him for a walk yesterday whilst I cleaned but the living room is back to how it was before( a big mess) I feel like he’s angry because he’s watching some tv or I won’t let him eat dangerous things, he could also be tired but he won’t go down for his second nap! He’s 1 next Saturday, any advise or literally anything is helpful, could it be this age? He’s learning to clap and stand aswell
This is only a snippet. He is usually a very happy baby!
Thanks for reading lol
