Tbh my motivation came from a coworker who knocked me back to reality.

I started that job at about 135lbs. About two years in this coworker who had been there since before me looked at me and stated- “you look good with all this weight you put on” (to some that might sound like a compliment but to me I never wanted to be over 135 pounds) at the time it was shocking I hadn’t weighed myself in two years I had gotten into some bad eating habits stopped working out etc. I was like completely blind to the fact that I had gained any weight.

After I had a breakdown because of it and realized how much weight to gain( I gained 30 pounds) I decided to fix it and I started going to the gym.

Now I will say I still have days where I severely lack motivation, and sometimes motivation will not be there, and you just have to force yourself to do it and to be honest as soon as I force myself to do it I’m always glad I did.

Sign up for a 5k and download a couch to 5k app. It’ll guide you on how to get ready and give you a goal time frame to be ready. It worked for me

I dont think about it, I just do it!

Set a realistic goal. Consistency is key. 20 mins at a time and it doesn’t have to be everyday.

Friends

No judgement please,

I’m 34 years old, north east and never really had ‘my girls’ where we go for drinks and meals. I have friends but no one who would really invite me anywhere. Looking for at least one person who I can message (texts) and be like I’ve got my girl. Someone who would be willing to go watch musicals or a murder mystery at the theatre, cinema, coffee, walks, drinks. Looking for a friend for life.

Cheesy I know sorry

I don’t know if I should stay with my boyfriend

We have been together for coming up 2 years and we have a 5 month old baby girl. He was a great boyfriend and we spent basically every day together and then he had to go back home to live with his parents for a while in Wales and I had to stay in York with mine (personal family reasons on both sides). While we were apart I found out I was pregnant, he was happy, everything good. He would come to the scans and whatnot (as he should) but I had a really lonely pregnancy. Then he got a part time job in Wales and basically just kind of expected me to move there. I did because I didn’t want to be away from him or our daughter. I’m a very social person and he’s not, I’m happiest socialising with my friends and family and have a wide range of friends. He doesn’t speak to anyone but his family who we now live about 10 mins away from. His family are lovely and I get on with them really well but I feel really alone here too. I basically do the whole parenting thing alone. I’m with our daughter 99.9% of the time. He’s made ‘jokes’ saying if I want him to do all the baby stuff he will do it but he would want my maternity pay. I do a lot of meal prepping to make it easier and stress free so all he does is defrost dinner and warm it up and that classes as cooking dinner. He hardly washes up anymore. He drinks 2/3 of a bottle of whiskey most nights. He’s not a bad drunk or anything he just stays downstairs while me and our daughter are upstairs. He’s never done a bath time or a bedtime with our daughter. He has to be asked to do things for the baby and the house. Like have some initiative???!! I understand that relationships are give and take and a huge compromise and that they change after having a baby but I don’t feel appreciated or really wanted. I think he loves me but it’s easy to have me here. He says if we break up he wouldn’t be with anyone else because he couldn’t be bothered to date someone else. We don’t go on dates, no gestures or anything. I just feel like I’m in the way. And I know you’ll say to communicate with him but anytime I’ve tried bringing up moving back to York he makes all my points seem silly and ends up saying “you don’t really want to live in York tho do you?” And laughs at me. I just feel trapped and like I would honestly be happier and more free if I was a single parent because I’m not constantly irritated that he gets his own life and I’m stuck in the house with our baby and no social life. I love him and I want our daughter to have her dad in her life but at what point do I prioritise my happiness? Obviously the ideal situation would be that he changes his behaviour and starts acting in a way that values me and helps more but he prioritises himself over us. Any advice would be lovely💗

Is this petty?

I’ve been talking to this guy for like four months and granted I already said that I am an extremely fertile person and if I were to get pregnant again, I would be having an abortion, but his communication has been iffy for the last month and some change, but like I don’t know if I’m hormonal or whatever the case maybe but he hasn’t responded since yesterday nine in the morning it is 126 the next today and the last message did not go through, but he still has me on Snapchat and don’t get me wrong. I did block him on my messages because I’m not doing that back-and-forth and I do mean it. I will not be keeping this kid. I already have one. I’m good on two, but is it very toxic of me to want to create a panic because you’re immature for that and granted I’m probably immature for this too, but I really don’t give a damn I’m irritated.

New here

Hello everyone! My name is Jessica, I’m 25 years old. I have a 3 year old son named Josiah. I’m still learning the app but so far this seems like a great outreach for moms. I am a fulltime working single mom, my son doesn’t have much family outside of me and my dad. I am really looking for people who are open to making lifelong connections! (My goal honestly is to find someone and become so close that our children will refer each other as their cousin)

How much do you spend on birthdays / Christmas?

Constant argument with my partner on how much is okay to spend! This year I have spent less but by thrifting have still got a similar amount of pressies for her, which he now says it’s both the cost and the amount of presents that bothers him.

I would say I spend approx £100 (slightly less / more depending). Same for Christmas.

Thanks in advance!
