Is it helpful or tacky to include an Amazon wishlist on a birthday party invite for family?

I made an Amazon list for my sons 2nd birthday coming up

Not at all! I’ve made wishlists for my daughter’s birthday every year and some people love it because it makes it easier for them.

I personally don’t add it to the invite I just always have it ready for any occasion and if someone asks I’ll send it to them. I’ve seen it on birthday invitations before and never thought bad of it though. Especially depends on age. As they get older they will have more of an opinion on what they want so it’s definitely helpful to have a list ready and accessible.

If someone asks me what my child wants I’ll share a list, but adding it to a card literally says “buy my child these things.”

I do not want people to think they they have to buy my child a gift to attend a party.

I like to put something like “your presence is the best present, but if you would like to bring a gift you can find ___’s registry here” 😊

I am absolutely doing it, and sending the same one for Xmas. AND I made them baby registries so you get the percent off lol

i do it because i dont want junk we will not use

Avatar

I love when people do it. Obviously I’m going to buy a present. I’d rather they have something they want than some junk they don’t like

I always have one. Not everyone uses it; which usually bums me out. I love it when others do one, since I don’t have to guess what their child would want. I get them exactly what they ask for. I’ve seen people add a wishlist and also add the child’s next clothing and shoe size, plus asking for books. I will say, when I see the book option, I will go for that instead. I love books.

I always have one but don't put on the invitation. If people reach out asking what she would like I send the link

I might ask my mum or brother if they want a list of wait for them to ask but I wouldn’t put it on an invite.

I wish I had done this in some way for my son's birthday recently. People kept asking me what he enjoys/needed. I didn't put anything about gifts on the invite though, so there wouldn't be any pressure to bring one.

Maternity pay

Anyone else got really rubbish maternity pay?
I get 6 weeks at 90% then the rest is statutory which barely covers bills!
I want to take atleast 8/9 months just to be with baby but it’s daunting with the lack of income.
Anyone got any money making/saving ideas?

VENTING 😡🤦🏻‍♂️

Honestly, I’m getting really frustrated with this app 😭 Is anyone else experiencing this?

I’ve matched/talked with a couple moms who say they’re looking for mom friends, but then as soon as we actually start texting, the conversation is SO dry. 😭 I’m genuinely putting in effort to keep the conversation going, asking questions, trying to get to know them, and sometimes it literally feels like I’m draining them just by trying to have a conversation.

And then on top of that, I’ve dealt with feeling judged for having my son in sports. Like… he LOVES being active, he enjoys the sports he’s in, and I’m just trying to keep him busy and give him things he enjoys. I don’t understand why that would be something another mom would judge me for.

I’m literally just on here because I want genuine mom friends. I’m a very friendly person, I love talking, getting to know people, doing things with our kids, having playdates, grabbing Starbucks, whatever. 🥲

It honestly makes me wonder if I should just delete the app because I’m not here to feel judged or like I have to beg someone to have a conversation with me.

Is anyone else dealing with this?? 😭

Soon to be mama, military wife - don’t have any other mom’s in my life

This is new for me to try and meet friends, so I’m hopeful to connect with someone who also feels like they need a community. I’m due late December, and I don’t know any other moms to talk to about pregnancy and baby around the corner. I just moved to Oregon from Maine because of my husbands military career, so it’s a bit lonely being somewhere where I know nobody. It’s also the first time in my life Im not working full-time.
