Not returning to work

Hi, I’m wondering if there are any other mums who are not returning/didn’t return to work after mat leave, and instead are stay at home mums. I’d love to hear your experiences, what you get up to with your Lo’s, when you plan to sign them up for anything like pre school etc. Thanks! :)

I did not return to work because they refused my flexible working request. We mostly go to the park/woodland near us and do crafts (he is 22 months).

It can be hard not having that extra income and things are heavily budgeted but I know it's best for us financially at the moment.

So i didnt with either. It wasnt planned just how it happened😂 the days are long and can be really tiring. If you drive or are around lots of places its even better! When the 2 year old funding came in i signed up my eldest straight away, i found since him being at nursery it actually helped our routine so much better. So we have set days of what we do now.
We usually go for walks in the nature reserve, feed the ducks, wonder around town/window shopping, try and meet up with family and friends, go to the park, soft plays and my sons favourite thing...coffee shop date😂
At home we just do painting, drawing, lots of singing and dancing. They dont really play but 2 boys close in age theres at least 3 wrestling matches a day😂 tablet on standby incase we all need a break from each other😂

I also found its really helped them 'understand' chores ect. Because they see me do them every day, they've caught on and now help me with the washing, tidying, hoovering, mopping, cooking. Its fun but hard

I deliberately didn't. Mine little one is 17 months. We do an outside activity in the morning, midday nap, then home jobs or activity in the afternoon. Works really well, he's thriving with me and I wouldn't have it any other way

Thanks All! I’m choosing not to go back too and not planning on sending to nursery, maybe pre school around 2.5/3 to get her used to that environment before school. Nice to hear what you all get up to x

Maternity pay

Anyone else got really rubbish maternity pay?
I get 6 weeks at 90% then the rest is statutory which barely covers bills!
I want to take atleast 8/9 months just to be with baby but it’s daunting with the lack of income.
Anyone got any money making/saving ideas?

My husband and I haven’t had sex in 2 weeks

We finally had sex today, 2 weeks is usually not normal for us as we have sex once or twice a week. But I was a little confused because it took him a little while to finish usually if it’s been a few days he will always cum fast..

VENTING 😡🤦🏻‍♂️

Honestly, I’m getting really frustrated with this app 😭 Is anyone else experiencing this?

I’ve matched/talked with a couple moms who say they’re looking for mom friends, but then as soon as we actually start texting, the conversation is SO dry. 😭 I’m genuinely putting in effort to keep the conversation going, asking questions, trying to get to know them, and sometimes it literally feels like I’m draining them just by trying to have a conversation.

And then on top of that, I’ve dealt with feeling judged for having my son in sports. Like… he LOVES being active, he enjoys the sports he’s in, and I’m just trying to keep him busy and give him things he enjoys. I don’t understand why that would be something another mom would judge me for.

I’m literally just on here because I want genuine mom friends. I’m a very friendly person, I love talking, getting to know people, doing things with our kids, having playdates, grabbing Starbucks, whatever. 🥲

It honestly makes me wonder if I should just delete the app because I’m not here to feel judged or like I have to beg someone to have a conversation with me.

Is anyone else dealing with this?? 😭
