Annoyed with nursery

Please hear me out as I am fully understanding of policies. My son has been going to nursery since June and after a long period settling in now really enjoys it. On Monday I sent him in and mentioned he had 2 teeth breaking through (1 being a molar) causing him a dribble rash. Within 15mins of leaving and still driving I get a call and eventually a few hours later was asked to pick him up. Nursery were adamant it was HFM (despite no other symptoms) and he was not allowed back for 3 days. Checked by a dr who has confirmed it is not HFM. He has not been in nursery all of this week, the longest he’s not been. I’ve had to take unpaid leave from my work and my husband a days holiday to allow me to work a few hours. We still have to pay over £160 this month including the missed days. I wouldn’t be annoyed if this was the 1st time. However last month we sent him in fine, 15mins later had a call to pick him up as he was ‘poorly’. He wasn’t. last month we paid over £140 including a missed day. It’s not even like they’re giving it a few hours, I’m being rung within minutes having sent my child in perfectly well. I wouldn’t if he wasn’t well and would be more understanding if he had been in for say 3+ hours. I can’t afford to keep having unpaid days off work or to be paying nursery fees when he isn’t in and it defeats the whole point of why we’ve opted for childcare if I can’t work

I work in a nursery and there is no exclusion for HFM unless it is written in their own individual policies that you would have read and signed. I hope you get some form of apology from them for making you keep him off for 3 days.

each setting will have their own policy and rules around what is or isn’t a reason for not allowing a child to attend. i understand it’s stressful, but their priority is keeping all the children as healthy and safe as they can and if it’s written in their policy that HFM means they have to stay home, and they suspect it on a child they have to stay home. However, I will say if you had confirmation from a doctor you should be able to take written confirmation in and they cannot exclude, i’d be questioning them if that was the case! they get absolutely nothing out of your child going home so I wouldn’t be assuming that they’re doing it for no reason, schedules are made well in advance and no one will be leaving immediately after opening for example just because one child was sent home. they have to follow policy and procedures and protect the welfare of all children attending even if that means sometimes sending your child home xx

I'd move him. If I was told by the Gp that it wasn't HFM he should be allowed back and not be charged, etc.

I would've been livid! I'm so sorry, because in today's economy, 1 weeks earnings is a whole lot!

Usually he would be allowed at nursery even with HFM so long as he doesn't have a fever and is well in himself and I think blisters have dried. Check their policy !
What bullshit ! Especially if a doctor has checked him over.

I get your frustration if he'd thrown up within 15 mins of you dropping him off, sure. But how is he "ill" what symptoms is he displaying? Even if he has a temperature they tend to leave them 30 mins and see if it goes down.

When I'd seen a doctor and they'd said it wasn't HFM they let him back in the next day, as why else would he need to stay home?

I know they have to protect all the other children, but who can tell in 15 mins without a temperature that a child is ill?

6 year old says he hates me

I was putting my son to bed after a nice day together, and he just came out with it. 10 minutes prior he said ‘ I love you mummy’ then he said ‘I hate you but you’re part of my family’ 🫠 His little sister gets a lot of my attention and my patience isn’t where it used to be, but this has just really thrown me!!! He’s a daddies boy and maybe our connection has slipped a little because of our daughter. Any advice?

Being cheated on for like the 8 million time

Why is it so easy for him to cheat? Why does he do it? What do I do that is so difficult for him to love me and our almost 3 month old daughter? All I know is I need to break the cycle I’m done! I rather be a single mom and struggle than deal with this all over! My self esteem is gone! Self respect in myself gone I continues forgive and forgive and forgive just to be cheated on again I just want a good man that is loyal 🙄😟😞done

Parking

Can someone tell me if I’m in the wrong as I’m feeling really guilty! I have just been shopping, was parked in a child and parent space and as we came out of the shop my little man decided he was hungry, so instead of waiting the 30 mins to drive home, I sat in the back and fed him, when I got out, another mum started shouting at me that I was ‘inconsiderate’ as other people needed a space. Admittedly all the other parent and child spaces were taken. Am I in the wrong?

Im so exhausted

Sorry this is long. I have a 5 year old. Shes wonderful. Extremely smart, funny, silly, and very creative. We will be in the process of testing for gifted. She complained about school because as she said she didn't use her brain. She wasnt challenged. The teacher gave us little readers to read at home. Now shes doing 'decodable' books. (It usually has a reading rule in it. Last week was ch and it talked about chess). So thats her homework. The other kindergarteners homework is doing letters and sounds, numbers and sight words. Hers is the book and like 8 flashcards of different reading rules (ch, sl,gr, gh, ph, -nt, -nd, etc). So nothing too crazy. They are doing 1st grade reading with her and another kid and reading the decodable at school with a para. They all say she does great and never complains and tries and does amazing. Well we get home and get to homework and its constant crying and fussing and 'i cant sound it out! I dont know that word! I dont know what it says'. Today it was just she didn't want to. I said when you are ready we will read and i sat there. She started hitting me, kicking me, and then punching me which is new. I ignored it all otherwise I would've lost my shit. I said why are you doing this. It's not okay to hurt people. Then dad got home and he said he won't tolerate her hurting his wife and now she gets to do her homework with him. She cried for a few minutes while I went outside for 5 minutes. Came back in and she was done. Like wtf?!
We are in behavioral therapy and idk what to do anymore. When shes in that state thers no talking about feelings or anything. I just sit with her while she runs through it. Im just tired of being abused by a 5 year old but idk what to do anymore.

Why do I get SO overwhelmed when my toddler is smothering me?

Most moms can deal with their toddlers 24/7... i CAN NOT. I wonder why that is. I need a break every night
