We found our baby is a baby girl this weekend.. I have been convinced she was a girl the entire pregnancy so it wasn’t a shock at all but just hearing it officially… of course I love her and I’m not evil, it’s just a lot to adjust and I am feeling really stressed and a bit sad really. I feel guilty that I’m not as excited as I should be and currently don’t want people to know because I’m not ready to be super happy about it yet.
I have always pictured my life with a son one day and, for very personal reasons and life experiences, I feel a lot of stress when thinking about protecting and raising a baby girl in this world which I’m sure people can relate…
I am worried about protecting her, I am worried about not feeling the same bond from her as a son, amongst a multitude of other things. I am not feeling excited to buy frilly dresses or go to dance classes and I know it will all settle and logically I won’t imagine life without her and I do love her, it’s just overwhelming me..
Any advice… 🌸

She will be born and nothing else will matter. You’ll see you didn’t think it was possible to love someone so much.
Girls aren’t your stereotypical frilly dresses. She could be anything she wants, she can like the frilly things but also the more traditional “boy” things. I had a girl and oh my gosh is she the center of my entire world. Her laugh, smile, hitting her milestones. She’s my everything and I don’t think you’re bad for feeling gender disappointment but you should put it aside and love your daughter with all of your being because she deserves it.

I have girl, boy then girl. My oldest daughter is very much a classic girly girl. My son is very much influenced by his big sister and normally in some sort of princess dress up and showing us his dance shows. My youngest is just her own type of person haha. She’s happiest in her brother’s spider man tops (that absolutely swamp her) and she’s the most physical girl always wanting to run or kick a football about. Your daughter will be influenced by whatever you show her, if you only have her in frilly dresses then that’s all she’ll know but you just dress her and get her into whatever you want! My husband loves football and he’s spent a lot of time getting our oldest daughter into football with him, if you make it exciting for them then that’s what they’ll love. Take the pressure off having a girl and remember that there’s not as much pressure to fit into the typical girl/boy things now. I’m sure she’ll be perfect for you and when she’s in your arms everything will make more sense x

I had a lot of these same feelings when we found out ours was a girl. It got better as I started to imagine all the things I'd like to share with her that I wouldn't be able to with boys, all the life lessons I can teach her.
I don't worry as much about the state of the world, but I do plan to teach her independence, self-defense, and to never be afraid to speak her mind. I'll sleep a lot better knowing I have a daughter who can speak up for herself and take care of herself.

In my experience taking care of children, it’s the girls who are most interested in spending time with their mothers. You can take her to anything, doesn’t need to be dance classes. Girls can be anything. It’s boys who are more limited honestly. And ya know they say having a girl first is the better option because they will help you raise the rest of the kids. So when you do have a boy, you’ll have a helping hand, and appreciate her all the more cause boys are a handful.

Hey girl its normal to feel this way. I have chosen not to find out the gender till birth. My husband is convinced its a girl and I'm hoping for a boy but realistically as long as its healthy it doesnt matter. My husband has walked in on me bawling my eyes out. When he asks whats wrong I tell him I am absolutely terrified of raising any child in this world but more so if its a girl. I am also a tomboy and have no idea how to teach her to do makeup or buy cute girly outfits but thats where her auntie or sister will come into play. I will be 38 when this baby is born and its my first. We've struggled to make it. I just hope for a healthy baby. You got to remember your hormones are adding fuel to the fire. I think once you see and hold your baby girl that bond will be instant.
I’m looking for recommendations on a baby sling instead of a carrier or wrap, I’ve got both which my baby loves especially when it comes to nap time but it’s a mission getting on and off and she is getting heavier. I just want something quick and easy and didn’t know these even existed! She will be 2 months so not much neck control yet but is 12lbs 14oz, so conscious it needs to be decent for proper support.
Any mums have a sling that they’ve used from this age by any chance that they’ve loved?

Guys I’m struggling! I know all babies develop at different rates but should I be concerned? My boy is 15 months and is some ways he’s smashing it and in other ways he seems very behind! He can count to 10, started doing his abcs and can say alot of words, but he can’t say mama and Dosent use dada meaningfully, he can’t clap or wave but can walk, point and has started feeding himself, he can tell me
What noises alot of animals make and what they are but he 9 times out of 10 dosent answer to his name, but he will bring me books and toys and sit and read and play with me and struggles ALOT with food, it’s a struggle to get food in him most days but other days! At what point should I be worried!

When should I get worried that my son is showing little interest in crawling? He’s 8 months old? He’s great and sitting and has just started spinning when he sits but will refuse to go on his tummy.

My girl is 10 weeks today and still wants feeding mostly every 2 hours, sometimes every 90 minutes. At night she typically goes 5-6 hours. She is having 4oz feeds and formula fed. I had it in my head she should be going 3-4 hours or even starting to show some kind of pattern by now. I feel like feeding 4oz every 2 hours means she’s being over fed. Is anyone going through similar?
