How do I tone down being over-friendly when making mum friends?

My partner says I come across as over-friendly and it makes some people uncomfortable, even midwives. I want to connect and make friends as a new mum, but I’d love advice on how to find a good balance. Has anyone else struggled with this?

You are the way you are but you just need a friend to kind help when you don't know it's happening

Have you lost friendships from being this way or do they seem uncomfortable to you ? Is it just him that said it? I would say don't change as that would make you seem uncomfrtable/awkward and come across strange more so. Why should you change? You havent done anything wrong? You just need friends who get you and you click with

Don't! It's who you are and you'll soon find the people who appreciate you for being just the way you are 😊

Don’t water yourself down, for the sake of others. Be exactly who you are. If you have to change yourself to find friends, those are not your people. And your husband should not be asking you to hide who you really are. Your actions are not hurtful, or harmful. You sound just like me. Open, and honest. Maybe a little loud, but very kind and genuine. And willing to talk to anyone!!! You shouldn’t have to tone it down, or pretend to be someone you’re not. IMO!

I wouldn't worry about how you're coming across. Unless it's actually affecting how you make friends. You'll find people that are similar to you and accept you the way you are. By the time you get to the toddler stage you won't have time to talk to them in depth anyway as you'll be running after them instead 🤣

I think everyone is saying the same, don’t change who you are for anyone. I’m a nurse and I love it when my patients actually interact with me, makes my job so much easier. I bet you absolutely aren’t overly friendly with your midwives or other mums at all!

Birthday gift...

My child recently started nursery and got a birthday invitation for a first birthday. I'm not really familiar with the child, so was thinking to put £10 in a card. Is this an appropriate amount, or would £20 be better? I haven't been to a kids party in a very long time, so don't really know what is the norm at the moment. Thanks

How can do if my man don’t have sex with me ?

We had like a 9-month no-sex-at-all, no-intimacy period. I just have three kisses in the day, one when he came from work and one before go to sleep and sometimes I have one extra. A touch of his lips. That’s all

No sex drive

Is it common to completely lose your sex drive after having a baby? My baby is almost 3 months and I have absolutely no desire to have sex. In fact, I kind of dread it. I feel bad for my partner because he really wants it. He’s been really patient with me and respectful of my boundaries, but I just feel bad that I don’t want it right now. I still love him and everything, just don’t want to have sex at this time. I’m just so focused on my baby that sex feels like an inconvenience and just like one other thing I have to do for someone else. Anyone else feel the same?

TW potential abortion…

I am a mom of a lovely one year old baby, he’s my whole life, I love him so much. Since being pregnant with him, my relationship has been awful. We don’t have sex anymore (once every three months if that and it’s not even nice), there is no intimacy whatsoever. It got to the point where we are roommates. We don’t kiss, haven’t been sleeping in the same bed for a year (even though baby sleeps independently in his own room), we haven’t been on a date since I got pregnant. We argue all the time. I just don’t like the person he is, he’s making racist comments that make me uncomfortable and is overall very narrow minded.
8 weeks ago, we had sex once after months of abstinence… I got pregnant. I am now 8 weeks pregnant and I don’t know what to do. I have talked to him countless times about going to therapy but he hasn’t showed me even once that he cares to do that or fix our relationship at all. Yesterday was my birthday, I got an ugly pyjamas in a colour that I don’t even like… I know it’s not a big deal compared to all our other issues but I felt so lonely… I’ve been suffering with HG and feeling so crappy while taking care of our baby and the house and all I get is an ugly pyjamas… I wish he cared to fix things between us but unfortunately it seems very one sided…
Now I am at the point of thinking if I should get an abortion, go back to work and leave… It breaks my heart but I couldn’t possibly afford two babies while not working and all by myself… it’s either that or having to wait two more years until both babies can go to nursery. I am looking for an outside point of view here, what should I do?
