Night feeds

When did you stop night feeds, and how did you do it? My little girl is 2 and still wakes up at least 2–3 times a night for milk. It’s honestly so draining 😩 Has anyone been through the same? I’d love to hear what worked for you and how you settled them without a feed 🤍

Yes! I completely failed though and kept up with it… my son relied on the bottle for comfort. Gradually it dropped to one wake up. And He has only recently started sleeping through 😬sorry not much help but eventually they do stop 😅
I have been told by friends that they just stopped giving it and put up with the screams but I couldnt do it 🤣
Also people have suggested diluting it with water and switching it out that way. And a snack before bedtime. But these never worked for me, might be worth a try? Keep going u got this x

My son dropped to one bottle naturally around 2, and usually sleeps through the night now he's 3. Maybe once a week he'll wake up wanting a milk. I think we may have tried settling him without milk a while ago so he didn't want milk every time he got up.
Does she eat enough at meal times?

I recently just cut out my 8 month olds 2 full bottles at night! Figured she surely didn't need that much at night (was adding up more than during the day sometimes 😅 I just started cutting back ounce by once during night feeds and then within a week she cut it out. At the same time I also spaced out her feeds during the day so she would actually be hungry and drink most of her milk instead of 'snacking' ever few hours.

My little girl is 14 months and would feed through the night but about 2 weeks ago she stopped. I would just feed her at 12 and 4 and minimise the feed time each night by a minute starting at 10 mins, did this for around a week. If she grizzled I would just rock her/pat her bum and now she no longer will feed in the night, you've got this 😊

How warm is it on the wards?

I’m 39 weeks and am wondering if we do have to stay the night if I should pack a swaddle or sleep sack for baby? If so what tog? I have a blanket packed but don’t plan on using those for sleep at home.

Free range while showering

This is a super specific question for mamas with older kiddos. At what age did you let then have free reign in the house while you showered?

My son is 11.5 months but is fully mobile. I'm usually home alone when I shower. He gets frustrated with being kept in the bathroom with me but is also too squirmy for him to shower with me (plus I don't get in a good shower). On the flip side, I'm terrified that he'll hurt himself if I let him just wander around the house alone, even with baby gates and whatnot.

What do I doooo?

Partner left me, how do I cope at night plus a 4 yr old?!

Its just me now, 1st night on my own and my 8 week old sleeps so terribly, shes always unsettled , every 40mins or so. Feeds every 3 hrs.
I cant lay in as have a 4 yr old.
I dont actually know how to cope? Im terrified. Me and my partner were doing shifts so I'd get 5 hrs undisturbed sleep. To now have to do on my own, please give me some help to get her sleeping better or how I can cope
She has reflux, wakes her up but absolutely nothing works for this, not gaviscon, not ompeprazole, tried everything.
Even when it's not reflux, she is unsettled. Although very happy in the day. Co sleeping doesnt help, she is exact same

Overbearing MIL

I need to vent. I’m 3 weeks post partum and my son cries sometimes and can be difficult to settle. My mother in law has been very overbearing and whenever my son cries takes him off me to settle him. It’s now got to the point the point where I’m nervous for when my son cries cos I feel everyone looks at me to settle him and when I can’t I feel embarrassed and she comes along and takes him off me. At night when my son is crying, she’ll come into the room and do the same at 3am. I feel like all I’m good for at the moment is breastfeeding him but otherwise I’d be a shit mum. I feel like she’s getting in the way of me bonding with my son and learning my sons cries and habits. I feel really sad and useless :(

Bottle recommendations

im begging at this point! Please someone recommend me some bottles for my son. Hes a month old snd for the past two weeks we’ve really been struggling with feeding. He gulps so much air and gets so upset throwing himself backwards and needing a burp within seconds. Some bottles he can be ok with but otherwise hes just so uncomfortable. We tried tommee tippee, mam and we now have mam with lansinoh teats, the teats worked for a few days but we’re back to screaming a lot. Its horrible to see him like this
