Is anyone else struggling with this postpartum? 💔

I don't know if this is postpartum anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or years of hurt finally catching up with me. I'm just trying to understand if anyone else has felt this way.

Lately, I've been spiralling over things my MIL said to me almost four years ago. Things that happened years back, but somehow, my mind keeps bringing them up as if they happened yesterday.

I have the awareness to know that I'm spiralling. I know I can't change the past. But I feel like I have absolutely no control over my thoughts.

I keep replaying conversations, remembering how certain things made me feel, thinking about what I should have said, and wondering why those words still have so much power over me.

And the hardest part? I feel incredibly alone in all of this.

My husband has gone to work, and I find myself sitting with all these emotions, feeling like I have no one truly in my corner. I'm postpartum, I'm struggling, and I'm tired of having to be strong when all I really want is to feel understood and emotionally supported.

It's frightening how something from years ago can still hurt this much. I'm exhausted by my own thoughts, and I don't know how to make them stop.

I'm not looking for advice to forgive, forget, or simply move on. I just want to know if other mothers have experienced this — old wounds resurfacing postpartum, overthinking to the point of feeling physically overwhelmed, and feeling alone even when you're not technically alone in life.

Has anyone else been through something similar? Did postpartum make unresolved hurt feel much more intense? And what genuinely helped you get through it?

Please be kind. I'm reaching out because I need to know I'm not alone. ❤️

Hey, I've been hurt deeply by my own parents and understand how this can be magnified especially after birth. I'm not sure if this is the same for you but I think for me, it became more apparent after my baby because I realised that I not only couldn't trust them to put my own wellbeing first but didnt trust them to not put my child first, someone that is naturally the most important person in my life.

I think after having a baby it really makes you challenge your friendships and relationships and makes you question if those closest to you are deserving of a relationship with your child, or if they will be capable of keeping them safe when you're not there.

If there is unresolved buisness, or you've not had the oppotunity to sit down and talk about it fully, relinquishing control or allowing those people into your child's life can be really daunting.

Maybe if you can try and write down your thoughts and attempt to get to the root cause of those feelings. It may help to form what it is you want to say...

So my 29 month old is waking up again at silly times sometimes 11pm sometimes 2.30am and this morning 4am…….why? We did sleep training and brought a guide from Ruth the midwife and it worked it went so so well and we was all managing to sleep and felt refreshed now I am exhausted and feel drained

All he does is moan and moan and moan from the minute he wakes up till he goes to bed.

What duvet tog should we be using for him now it’s colder?

No sleep routine

My 8 week old has no real routine. His dad and I split the night and take a shift each in different rooms and we’re really just muddling through responding to however he is that day/night. I know every baby is different but when roughly should we start a routine and what should it look like?

Speech

My boy is going to be 2 in less than 2 weeks now & still barely saying many words he says mama, dada, nana, go, no, makes noises of a duck & he has recently started saying mummy & okay but i feel that he is behind. Is there recommendations on what I can do to improve this? Does it seem like he is behind?

EBF Mums

Hello,

So I exclusively breastfeed my seven day old I have always with both pregnancies produced a lot of milk so I do bottle feed as well as pump off in the daytime as not confident breastfeeding in public. I can currently get about 14 to 20 ounces off every 3 to 4 hours pumping so my stash is building up quite significantly.

The only thing I’m struggling with this time is I constantly feel hungry and if I don’t eat properly feel like I’m gonna pass out all blood sugars are dropping. I try to consistently eat protein-based meals for breakfast and lunch while my partner is at work and then we’ll eat something home-made for tea. I’ve never really been a snacker but I feel like I constantly need snacks. Is this something anyone else is struggling with?
