Baby is 5 days old, my boobs are massive, haven’t been able to establish a latch at all, have had to express my milk and use a bottle (I know bottle is easier for baby than boob) is all hope lost for them to ever latch? :( he cries and cries when my nipple is in his mouth and just won’t latch.

My friend had the same issue (big boobs) and was struggling and the midwife advised her to stop moving her boob to the babies mouth and move the baby to the boob and it made such an improvement. I’m not saying this will work for you also as not sure what you have tried just sharing the knowledge for us big boobs mamas. I’m currently pregnant with twins so really debating expressing, breast or bottle or a mix of all 3 at the moment. Hope it works out for you x

Have you tried laying back to try to feed. Lay on your back with your head resting on a pillow or sofa, place baby on their front on your chest, let them lift their head to find the right latch. This way the boob is flatter and not pushing down or covering any of baby's face xx

Put a rolled up tea towel under your boob. Really lifts the boob into the right position
Also, get checked for tongue tie

I had the same, boobs were /are still huge, he's 4 months now. I used to express for a couple of minutes just to let down the initial milk and almost make my nipple easier to latch onto (from the suction).
And what mentioned above, worked for me too. 😊. Xx

Try the rugby hold on baby only way I was able to feed with a larger chest

I had a few problems with feeding mine my big boobs being one of them and now hes 13 weeks and latches a treat.
Ngl it was really hard and disheartening to start with but if you want to breastfeed then you will also be able to, youll just need to persevere through this hard bit.
Good luck xx

Use a muzzy under your boob to lift it im big busted too but am successfully breastfeeddinv my 5 week old message me if u want x

Watch a YouTube video on the rugby hold! Was the most comfy for me and my little boy. Try not to be disheartened, it takes some practice!! ❤️❤️ you’re an amazing mummy for reaching out xxx

I was the same. In hospital I got a good latch with rugby hold but when I came home latch was impossible to get as we had tongue tie sniped and ended up with blisters and cracked nipples.
I rang the breastfeeding helpline and the lady i spoke to recommend this video and it was fantastic.
Same as suggested above as well move baby to breast.
These helped immediately, even with blistered sore nipples. Didn’t need to use shields. Got the silver ones he’s to cool the pain as my little one relearns how to latch but highly recommend this position.

Give nipple shields a go until baby's mouth gets a little bigger. They help with the latch🙏🏻

Rugby hold and a decent pillow set up, persevere and you will both find a way that works. Good luck and enjoy it
My 8 week old has no real routine. His dad and I split the night and take a shift each in different rooms and we’re really just muddling through responding to however he is that day/night. I know every baby is different but when roughly should we start a routine and what should it look like?

My boy is going to be 2 in less than 2 weeks now & still barely saying many words he says mama, dada, nana, go, no, makes noises of a duck & he has recently started saying mummy & okay but i feel that he is behind. Is there recommendations on what I can do to improve this? Does it seem like he is behind?

So I’m not with my baby rn . My first born is currently in the hospital so I had to leave my almost 3 week old with her grandmother but I’ve been pumping since I haven’t been with her. Last night my last pump was at 10 pm and I was supposed to get up at 1 am to pump again but I haven’t gotten a lot of sleep since my son has been in the hospital so I slept thru my alarm and didn’t get up till 4 am I started pumping about 4:15 ish. Is it okay that I went that long in between pumping or should I try to power pump ? I make more than what my baby needs. She was drinking 1.5 ounces we just pushed her up to 2 ounces around 8pm last night but a typical pump I make about 3.5 ounces sometimes more

Is anyone else struggling with this postpartum? 💔
I don't know if this is postpartum anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or years of hurt finally catching up with me. I'm just trying to understand if anyone else has felt this way.
Lately, I've been spiralling over things my MIL said to me almost four years ago. Things that happened years back, but somehow, my mind keeps bringing them up as if they happened yesterday.
I have the awareness to know that I'm spiralling. I know I can't change the past. But I feel like I have absolutely no control over my thoughts.
I keep replaying conversations, remembering how certain things made me feel, thinking about what I should have said, and wondering why those words still have so much power over me.
And the hardest part? I feel incredibly alone in all of this.
My husband has gone to work, and I find myself sitting with all these emotions, feeling like I have no one truly in my corner. I'm postpartum, I'm struggling, and I'm tired of having to be strong when all I really want is to feel understood and emotionally supported.
It's frightening how something from years ago can still hurt this much. I'm exhausted by my own thoughts, and I don't know how to make them stop.
I'm not looking for advice to forgive, forget, or simply move on. I just want to know if other mothers have experienced this — old wounds resurfacing postpartum, overthinking to the point of feeling physically overwhelmed, and feeling alone even when you're not technically alone in life.
Has anyone else been through something similar? Did postpartum make unresolved hurt feel much more intense? And what genuinely helped you get through it?
Please be kind. I'm reaching out because I need to know I'm not alone. ❤️
