Hello, I just want opinions on whether how I’m feeling is valid or if I’m just overreacting etc. And whether or not I should do anything about it.
So last week I mentioned to my mil the gift I was planning on getting my child for Christmas and what my husband plans to get our child for Christmas.
This week (she cares for our child at ours once a week whilst I work from home) she brings along with her a mini version of what I said I was getting as a Christmas gift and various accessories to go with it that I had also mentioned. I feel a bit odd that she’s brought these toys the week after I mentioned it and as such feel like it’s an attempt to “beat me to it” as now my child’s playing with these items already, they won’t feel new and exciting at Christmas time..
Am I being silly or is it valid to feel a bit uncomfortable about this? I’m not really confident or confrontational enough to mention anything to get myself, so should I mention it to my husband to bring up with her or let it slide? (I don’t want my husband to think I’m talking badly about his mum, I know she generally just cares and loves for our child and wants to spoil them).

It would piss me off tbh- definitely say something to your husband if you don’t feel like you can to your mil.

I would bring it up to your husband. I don't think you should approach it with her directly.
See how he feels about it and maybe for this time you can agree to let it slide but just say it would be good if this wasn't a recurring thing.

Honestly I get how you feel. My mother in law is a nightmare. We have had to have 3 conversations with her to stop buying our unborn baby things without asking first. She was buying things that I felt are a personal thing, like breast pump! X

It was on purpose. Let your husband know. However your best bet is withdrawing yourself a bit from the relationship and sharing less. I used to share quite a bit with my MIL but at some point she'd say some stuff i didn't like despite me asking her not to. And i wouldn't argue with her like I would my mum cos it's very easy to sever the MIL/DIL relationship cos there's already a sigma associated with it. I decided to just remain cordial and share less like a friend (although we still maintain a good relationship)

Don’t tell her what you getting 😂 and speak to your husband about it coz she needs to be put in her place plain and simple
Me and my partner already have a 1yr old and im due in a few weeks but we aren’t sure how to get baby home. We don’t have a car and we aren’t sure if the hospital will let us go home in the train (10 min ride) using our double pram. Because in a taxi it’s a whole 40 min drive. Any help?

Anyone else debated moving to Australia for the better life balance?
Me & my husband are 28 and 34 and we have an 11 month old baby. My husband is plumber in the UK and he is working 6/7 days a week and over 12 hour days, he really hasn’t been around much. I would love to move to Australia so he could be around more, the better outdoor lifestyle for our baby boy as well. The UK is just miserable in the winter and it makes it hard getting out as we live in the countryside. Also this country is going to shit and I just think we’d be better off financially over there as well as my salary is triple over there. I get Australia have their own issues like housing crisis etc but it doesn’t seem as bad from friends & family over there compared to here.
Anyone else thinking the same?

Just looking for a some opinions/advice.. our little boy has just turned 18 months and me and my partner are desperate to start trying for baby no.2.. my partner works full time, I work 3 days a week.. we are just worried about money.. both our money gets eaten up each month with mortgage, bills and essential we barley have anything left over.. when we fell pregnant with our first it was the a bit of a surprise and we panicked so much on how we could make it work - we had just bought our house but 2 years later and we did it! He’s the best thing ever and my heart wants to give him a sibling but is that selfish?? We’ve got so much if our firsts baby things so we wouldn’t be starting again and I know more now what we would use and what is a waste of money? So we can keep the cost lower… idk is anyone else in or have been in this position?? Realistically are we ever going to be financially stable enough for more babies??
