Burping

My baby girl is 3 weeks and she’s breastfed . I’ve noticed when she doesn’t burp she spits up so I try my hardest to burp her . But when she falls asleep it’s kind of hard to get her to burp. What should I do ? Should I not worry about it or should I wake her to get her to burp

I could be wrong as I’m a first time young mum but I breast feed and I was told breast fed babies get there own wind up because they control the milk flow unlike a bottle but don’t hold me to that my girls 10 days and she always burbs or trumps after each feeds or be sick a little xx

i hold her up straight, rub instead of pat her back (over my should or leg)

i've burped my sleeping baby countless times. maybe its just him but he doesnt wake up when i burp him. (i sit him up and hold under his chin and pat his back) hes 6 weeks

Does she do bottle or latch straight on? What the lactation lady told me when my bubs was in the nicu was that if they latch straight on there is no need to burp them but if through a bottle (doesnt matter if its breast or formula) they have to be burped

Honestly if my baby fell asleep without a burp I took it as a sign that she didn’t necessarily need to since she was comfy enough to doze off. If they’re uncomfortable they won’t fall asleep (usually).

If they are leaning on you slightly upright for like 10-20 minutes after eating that’s just as good as burping

Im breastfeeding too and my baby does the same her doc told me a happy spitter in ok and it’s more common with breastfed babies not to burp at frequently because they don’t take in as much air as a bottle fed baby

If she's sleeping, then she's happy and comfortable and doesn't need to burp

You’re having the same problem I am. Your baby could have silent reflux. I asked my son’s pediatrician about it- It will get better with age. For now try using Gas drops, or gripe water. If your daughter’s coughing a lot, or sounds congested, chokes sometimes, and her poop is sticky sometimes- It’s more than likely that it’s silent reflux. I wish you the best.

Non Speaking

My Boy just turned 2 in September, my concern is that he still doesn't have any clear words, he points and gestures like hands me his empty bottle or grabs things he wants but doesn't verbally say anything... His hearing is fine I know that, he barely gets screen time either and I am trying my hardest to verbalize everything I do or repeat words when he wants something.. anybody else got this problem or advice?🫠

Help with night waking at 9 months

Any tips for getting my 9 month old to sleep through the night? He’s sleep trained and falls asleep independently, but still wakes up 3–4 times a night. What worked for you?

What do we consider cheating?

I don’t think I consider this cheating but I’m hurt anyway. I was on my partners phone to play music for baby, mine had died, and he was getting notifications to join lives and alerts for people that he had interacted with posting. I checked and he follows women who post nothing but half naked pictures. The thing that upsets me is that they look nothing like me.

He follows thick columbians and I’m the complete opposite. Sex has been painful and difficult postpartum. His reasoning what that we’re not having sex. Porn I can understand and would assume, but following real women that look nothing like me? I couldn’t even figure out how many, at least 10-20 or more.

It’s not like I don’t try other things, he won’t let me do anything to him UNLESS penetration is involved.

I’m probably triggered as well bc when I was a child, I would see my dad on the computer looking at pictures of naked women and more on his phone/camera.

I had said so many times to my partner that it must be horrible if your partner masturbates to people that look nothing like you. I’m not sure why I’m surprised.

Update: it’s over 100 accounts, I just stopped counting. I can’t even describe how I feel.

I don’t need a break from my baby, I need help with the laundry 😂

Does anyone else have a MIL who insists on taking my 12 week old baby to “help” you get a break? 🫠😂

I know she means well, but sometimes I don’t actually want a break from my baby. I’m happy having him with me, and honestly, having someone take him away from me doesn’t necessarily feel like a break at all!

I’d much rather have help with practical things like cooking, washing up or laundry, but it feels like the main thing she wants to do is hold the baby. Sometimes I also get the feeling that she wants to feel like she’s doing her Nana duty, which I completely understand, but it can feel like her need to spend time with him gets framed as “helping me” when that’s not necessarily what I need. 🥹

I feel a bit guilty because I know she’s trying to help, but I also feel like people assume that because we’re new mums, we must constantly want someone to take our babies off our hands. Sometimes we just want support without having to be separated from our little ones. 🥹

Am I being unreasonable, or does anyone else feel the same? How do you handle it kindly without hurting anyone’s feelings?
