How do I deal with this

So my parents have been looking after my cat for the last three days, I have travelled with my husband because he had a job away and I didn't want to be left alone with a four month old baby, who's teething and screaming before bed most nights, I need the support. My mum at first couldn't understand why I would go and thought I would be better at home, I explained that I can cope with the days but the nights are difficult, I know I got my parents and his parents but I somehow just want my husband. I went, anyway my neighbour is on holiday and I had to ask my parents.
My parents can be quite brutal with their opinions, especially with how messy I can be, I have got better since marriage but has to suddenly empty a room for our baby's nursery sooner than we expected, our baby was born five weeks early, which we didn't expect and I spent nearly two weeks in hospital, I was thrown in the deep end as I never managed to get to classes or sort the house out before the baby's arrival, I was about to start my last week of work and have a week holiday then go on maternity leave two weeks before the birth, none of this happened. Well the family bathroom is now a tip and a dumpling ground for anything and everything, I am trying to sort it but I am also got to care for the baby, my husband's job has got busier, longer days, more nights away and weekend jobs, that leaves with the baby more. I am also on the waiting list for therapy because of how difficult it was for me with everything surrounding the baby's birth, I think PTSD was thrown around by the therapist.
Well back to the story, I had to ask my dad to feed our cat, last night my mum texted me saying we both have different ideas for cleaning, I fired off an angry text saying that wasn't fair with everything I had been through. Well I had to ring her to check something and my dad was on the phone criticizing me for the state of the house especially the bathroom, saying he would help by getting a black bag to it all, I got my personal possessions on there that I need to sort out, I lost a room when my husband began the nursery, my husband heard and is now fuming, my parents can judge and won't listen to anything we say, they think I am lazy but I am struggling with my mental health and have a baby, my husband said he had no right to go upstairs on the first place, I now fed up and won't be asking my dad again, we are probably going to have a no visitor policy now and I am scared of what my husband will say to my dad when he sees him and I feel my dad stepped over the line. I am doing the room but it's taking longer because my husband says he would help but his work is getting on the way, I don't want to lose my marriage because of this, help

So they are all for criticizing but wont actually help. Also bagging everything is a waste of time and energy it does nothing to actually solve the problem. It just creates more work for you to deal with later. I understand not having a spotless house I grew up in a house that was disgusting and my parents didnt teach me healthy cleaning habits with anything so I understand the struggle to create a routine while also trying to work and care for a baby. Im sorry everything went sideways so fast. If anyone ever says anything about my house I always say they are welcome to wash some dishes do some laundry or haul some trash out. Im trying my best and im the only one who cooks or cleans so im doing it my way at my pace. Unless they wanna pay for a cleaner or get up and help me they can keep their opinions to themselves.

I mean why would you lose your marriage because of this?
Sounds like your husband is mad because he has your back, your family are being very critical and rude but aren't helping

The key thing here for your marriage is that you don't take your family's side.

My mum is also very critical but if I let her she would actually help me which is very different.

I will say you need to set strong boundaries with your family. You can still have them as visitors but I would say to them whenever they are critical something like "this is what we have at the moment because of where we are in our lives so you can either help , not visit or keep your opinions to yourself"

But also don't ask them for help going forward if they are just going to use it to criticise you

Thats so sad that your parents judged you like that. My dad can be a muppet at times and has made comments on my home and upset me a few times (I think hes autistic and doesnt seem to think before he speaks but im used to it) and as soon as ive told him his comment upset me hes been so upset with himself and apologised and asked how he can help ext. He himself is a hoarder, his home is clean but hes taken on alot of stuff mainly because it was my moms house who passed away 5 years ago and she was a hoarder to šŸ˜‚ so the stuff just piles up and hes no excuse. I have 2 children. Anyway the fact that he wasnt begging for your forgiveness after realising hed upset you is sad. Personally, if I was in their shoes and my child had a new baby and I went round to feed their pet and realised the state of the house I'd not be leaving until I'd tidied it. Id be straight on the phone asking what I can do to help and getting it done (if theyre physically able of course). Im sorry they made you feel that way ā¤ļø

How many of you SAHMs make your husbands' lunch everyday?

Does he get a sandwich plus 3 other items? Does he take care of himself? My husband's been so weird (back and forth) about this issue and I can't figure out if it's my problem or his.

Partner/money advice

Hi everyone,

I want to put this out there to see what other mums think and whether or not I’m being mean to have these thoughts. Last night me and my partner were talking about our finances/debts and the debt we took out whilst I was on MAT leave. The conversation ended with us re jigging how we pay things and now we’re not splitting our money (which was his idea to begin with) and he said he will start to attack our debts and that means he’s chucking more of his money into our joint debts and how that’s what he’s doing for us. Am I wrong for not feeling super grateful as the reason we’re in this debt and the reason we originally put our money together is because we agreed to have a child. It feels like he’s saying oh I’m so great to our relationship because I’m paying off more of our debts - when in reality he earns over 20k more than me a year & we took out these debts on the basis of our incomes being put together?? I don’t know I just need some other opinions on this please haha

Ladies, make sure you have financial backup! Always have a plan

It’s not all men but it does happen!

Hi, I’m Kate. I went through a separation almost 6 months ago after being a stay at home mom for 5 years. I have a degree in biology. I tried to get a job for two years but my ex told me no. Now that we split up, I looked for jobs for months with no one responding to my emails or applications. When employers find out I haven’t worked in 5 years, they don’t call back. The jobs who will hire me, do not pay enough to cover even half of my bills or childcare. So I’m coming on here to just remind you ladies that yes, many husbands are amazing and supportive and will take the weight. And if something happens, you will still be protected. But not all husbands or partners will do that. I’m guessing most will not. So please, if you have a partner who has never been a good provider, if your relationship is rocky. Get a job. Get a remote job. Get a side gig JUST IN CASE. I’m now relying on my little hobby-turned business to make enough money to pay bills and it is a slow slow process. Everyday is stressful. Every bill is late. I should have found remote work years ago as a backup when I knew in my heart that someday I would leave. Take care of yourselves ladies. You’re already taking the load of childcare and everything else so I know it’s a lot, but if you have any doubt at all about your relationship, make sure you have a plan! Don’t be like me

The struggle of 2 under 2

How are we coping with 2 under 2?!
I'm finding the logistics of the 2 almost impossible.

My toddler wants constant attention and constant snacks. My baby has reflux, wants to breastfed all the time, hates being put down and hates the carrier. I spend most of my day feeding and holding her upright which means things like playing with my toddler, preparing snacks, changing toddlers nappy are so hard to do. I don't know what I can do to make it slightly easier?! Its 11am and I'm still in my pjs and haven't eaten 😭
