MIL

My MIL calls my baby her baby and i absolutely hate it, I wouldn’t mind if she said my grandbaby as that’s true! She does also show signs of using her son(my partner) for a lot of emotional support and when she says my baby it sounds like her and his baby 🤢 am I overthinking it?

Personally, I don't have a problem with it. My MIL and my mom say "my baby" and have about all of my kids (and all of my nieces/nephews). I see it as a term of endearment, not something possessive. But I think it just depends on your relationship with your MIL.

Second child worries

So I’m currently 14 weeks pregnant with my second child. My first will be 2 years 10 months when I give birth. I’m really beating myself up about him having to share me. I’m already really grieving it being just me and him (and his dad) before the babies even here. I love my son and my unborn baby more than anything and my main priority is making sure they are both happy and healthy. My son is the most happiest little boy ever and I’m so worried for this massive change for him and I don’t want it to dull his spark or burst his bubble at all. I know in the long run he’ll be so grateful for having a sibling but I’m just anxious for the change and him adapting. Please can people give me reassurance that have experienced this and let me know everything’s going to be okay😂🥺

Anyone else find baby classes cliquey?

I thought I had made 1 or 2 mum friends from a baby class, but as soon as some others started who were also in our antenatal classes (none of us really seemed to bond at the antenatal classes, with everyone turning up and just going home at the start and end of the classes) it felt like it became a clique and I was the outsider. I'd never felt more alone or awkward, and where I would normally have stayed for a coffee, I left for jome feeling quite sad.

Am I the only one feeding my 8 month old once a day??

I work 9 to 5 and I am only able to give my daughter solids when I get home around 5:30pm. I still don’t feel too comfortable with her Nanny giving her food at this time just because we did have a scare of choking. Am I the only one only doing once a day feedings???

Weaning

Anyone else's baby just not interested in eating at all? 😭😂
My girl will be 7 months next week, started weaning around 3 weeks ago, first few days were good and she was eating purees and seemed to be enjoying them. But now as soon as the spoon comes near her mouth she shuts her mouth tight and is just not interested in the slightest!
I haven't really done much blw as I've been a bit scared but wondering if it's worth trying to see if she will enjoy that more?
Just to add she always seems interested when we are eating as if she wants food but then when we give her anything she's like 🤐

Unsupportive partner advice

Hey!! So I just want some advice and someone from an outside perspective to tell me their opinion on this.
My partner works in London and doesn’t get home until 7.30pm. Twice this week I have allowed him to have a long bath after work as he works in construction and had an achy back. Today, my girl has been so unsettled, crying most of the day on and off and just wanting to be held. She has not let me put her down and when I do she screams. I have been unable to shower or even get dressed today. This has been the case for the last couple of days. Cut to tonight, I came upstairs at 10.15pm to give my baby a bottle before I put her down for the night. My partner says that he is going to stay downstairs till about midnight so he can game (be on his Xbox). I then asked him if he wouldn’t mind putting the baby to bed so I could go straight to sleep instead as I am absolutely exhausted and feeling the load mentally today. Bear in mind I wouldn’t normally ask this of him but he had just told me he was going to be awake until midnight, by choice. He then pulls the “I’ve been out the house for 14 hours I need to rest”. I literally do everything for the baby. He hasn’t done a single nappy in about 2 weeks. I asked him if he could change her nappy whilst I made her bottle and he goes “well what if it’s a poo nappy”. Sorry but do I have a right to be annoyed and extremely frustrated? Or should I be more forgiving to the fact he has long days working

Should I let it go?

Guys.... my MIL name is Tammy, and my nephew (husband's side) is now 5, but everyone thinks he heard people call her by her name and has been calling her mammy/mammie/ however you wanna spell it. Now she is IN LOVE with being called it because it was his own doing and wasn't told to, which is great! Love that for them.... BUT my 1-year-old and soon to be newborn will be calling her that even though I told my husband that I HATE it. Is it just me, or does it sound awfully close to Mommy??? My daughter is still learning what things are and who people are/what to call them. She has called me and my MIL the opposite name, and I understand that kids will call their teacher or whatever mommy sometimes just out of habit of calling for their mom but.... mommy and mammie/mammy???? Kind of pisses me off honestly, and I know it probably shouldn't because it's not malicious, but let me have something, please!!!! I've tried getting my daughter to say certain phrases like when she drops something "uh oh spaghettio!" And she was saying it..... now my FIL is having her say "oh maaaiiinnnn" like... again, not malicious, but when it was known that I was getting her to say things because they were "following the lead" to start with and now changing things.... idk... I feel like everything I've been working on is going out the window because of what THEY want. I am pregnant, so maybe it's just that, but the MIL thing really gets under my skin. Even before getting pregnant.
