Bedtime help!!

Desperate

I have an almost 4 month old who only wants to cosleep. My husband and I want him in his own space for safety reasons. But he HATES laying on his back we can transition him into his bassinet (we have a halo) but then five mins later he’s waking up screaming and will not go to bed. We even tried his swing and same thing happened. We have the dream sack for him as well and that does nothing. We’ve done it all. Does anyone have any recommendations? Please no mean comments. We’re trying to do everything we can and keep him safe but he’s no longer sleeping unless it’s in bed with us.

Sometimes my son did that and we would both leave the room and let him self soothe for no more than 30 mins, you’re doing everything right mama. Do you have a sound machine or a light machine that has stats or something? You can message me if you want and I can give more advice?

Definitely do not let your baby cry it out no matter what anyone says. Research shows that it is actually extremely unhealthy for them short-term and long-term it affects their development entirely in a way that it causes damage as an adult. My recommendation to you is to go and talk to your child's pediatrician about seeing a sleep specialist to help you with the transition.

Babies are incapable of self soothing it is not possible. If you let a baby cry out all you were doing is allowing them to be upset until they're nervous system shuts down and gives up that would be harmful for even an adult let alone a baby who does not understand. One thing I could recommend outside of the Sleep specialist is for you to put your baby down and as soon as your baby starts to cry, not just fuss a little bit but actually cry, go and pick your baby up immediately soothe your baby without leaving the room or the area of their bassinet is in and once your baby is calm put them back down. When when your baby starts to cry again pick them back up and do the same thing over and over again. Yes it will be tedious and and Incredibly frustrating but it does teacher baby that the bassinet is still a safe area and that if they need something mommy or daddy will be there to take care of them you can only help a baby to self soothe by teaching it comfort in the first place

Allowing a baby to cry it out just begins to form the association and their brain that bedtime in bassinet is equivalent to discomfort in feeling upset. It will make crying go on significantly longer and make the process of sleep training significantly longer. Sorry for sending three separate comments there's a character limit so I couldn't say everything I needed to

I have tried something different and against bassinet rules. When I rock my baby on my shoulder I put a cozy warm small blanket on her back and once she’s deep asleep transition her into the bassinet with the same blanket. Basically she sleeps on the blanket. This has helped us with transition because she doesn’t feel the difference in when laid down. Just make sure the blanket is not large blanket but a small blanket or just double up the baby blanket.

Also I sometimes gave pacifier too to let her self soothe and sleep. White noise machine is a must too

We still mostly cosleep but what I’ve done is start to introduce the crib for the first part of bedtime. So after bath I swaddle & feed & sit with baby until she’s super asleep & transition to her crib. Sometimes she wakes up & needs me to go back in there one or two more times to help her settle again, but on average now for the like week & a half she stays asleep until about 10:30 (3hrs) & then I grab her and bring her back to bed with us. I’m not putting pressure on how long she needs to stay asleep in there & once I get a new rocker in her room I plan on sleeping in there for a night here & there to “teach” her to sleep in her crib throughout the night

Strange statement

So yesterday, my son, who just turned 3, pointed to the sky and said “Daddy in the sky”. I was so confused because we haven’t talked to him about heaven or anything like that. Then he said “My family up there”, pointing to the sky. I asked who is in the family and he said “Daddy, mommy, baby Rami” (his name). It freaked me out. Anyone had experiences of your toddler saying weird semi spiritual sounding stuff like that?

5am wake

How do I get my 14 month old to sleep past 5am?

He doesn't sleep well anyways but when it hits 4:45/5am he wakes crying. I manage to get him back to sleep (he's rocked/bounced) but minutes after transferring back into his cot he wakes crying again then he's up for the day from 5:30

He used to sleep till 6/6:30 sometimes even 7!

How do I stop this? I'm tired 😅 he wakes multiple times anyways then he's ready to be up from 5!!

This has been happening before the clocks went back so I don't think it's that.

TIA

Heart is breaking

So been in hospital for six days today. Following an uncomplicated childbirth, which I thought would be straightforward discharge home. Every time I expect to be going home Something else crops up.
My four year old son is at home with Dad but I feel so guilty and missing him loads. After being told baby’s jaundice levels haven’t improved and he needs yet another heel prick test my heart is breaking and I can feel my mental health deteriorating. Just can’t stop crying. I have also been started on blood thinners now due to extended stay and can’t leave the ward with baby so stuck in these four walls. Literally going insane!
Don’t really know why I’m writing on here guess it’s just a rant.

Coping with lack of sleep?

How am I supposed to function on a few hours of sleep a night?

I have a newborn and a toddler. My husband is working away and we have no family locally who can help.

My newborn and toddler still wake in the night. One might wake, go back to sleep and then the other wakes. Sometimes they are both awake and take forever to settle.

I can’t nap when they nap as I have to do dishes, washing, put clothes away, tidy up, prep meals, shower and brush my teeth. I cannot leave these as it’s my only time of the day where I can get these done.

Long wake window

Help!
My baby boy is barely 2 months old and he can have some long wake windows. I’ve tried everything, trying to get him to go down when he’s yawning, making the room quiet for his nap, not overstimulating him, feeding him and then changing him before putting him to sleep, swaddling, and rocking him while standing but nothing works.
I don’t want him to get into this routine where he’s up for a few hours before he gets too tired to the point where he won’t sleep.
Any tips?
