Did anyone feel like it wasn’t the right decision for their family? Our toddler started nursery recently (only 2 days a week), and a few weeks in, I still don’t feel right about it? we technically don’t “need” him to go as one of us is always around, so all I can think about is the time I’m losing with him and honestly makes me feel so sad, and also wonder if there’s something wrong with me as every other mum seems to cope well? I was never really keen on the idea of nursery and it took us 18 months to decide, but I ended up giving in to the pressure that it would be good for him for the social aspect etc, and also the idea of sometime for myself seemed good as well. But now I just feel like the pros are not worth the cons 😭 doesn’t help that our nursery only offers full days, we would love to have the option of just half days twice a week. Also seems like he only enjoys it for a little bit and not the full days 😢😢
Just wondering if anyone can relate!

I’m suprised your nursey only does full day. Most nursery offer half day. Go with your cut instinct honestly.

Nusery is good for kids for learning, socialising and making friends.

It's not necessary for every child. It's also good for them to be with their parent almost all the time until a certain age especially if one of you is always around. For socialisation you can go to baby/ toddler groups, swimming, sports, etc. Your gut instinct is also important

Follow your instincts, they're only little once and it all goes by way too fast. So much of what I've read says that the socialisation that everyone raves about isn't significant until they're much older, most of it is parallel play when they're young, really the bond and attachment with their mum's and parents is far more significant in their socialisation. It is all so personal to each child, mum and family, you do what's best for you and your child ❤️
Thank you so much everyone 😢❤️ my thoughts exactly! I think I’ve been fighting against my instincts because people rave so much about the benefits of nursery (when actually from everything I read, it isn’t essential or necessarily beneficial for every child before the age of 3), and I feel I’ve been silently judged for not sending him until now!

I felt the same and pulled mine out after the settling in days, there is no benefit of nursery for children under 3
I'm a stay-at-home mom to an almost 2-year-old. My partner works and pays our household bills, which are around $350–$400 a month, excluding his personal expenses. Sometimes he also gives me an allowance of about $500, which I appreciate.
I do the majority of the cooking, cleaning, childcare, and pretty much everything that comes with running the household.
Here's where I'm struggling. Sometimes I get frustrated because I want him to help more around the house or take care of our daughter so I can go to the gym, have some time to myself, or simply rest without having to worry about the baby.
I understand that he works and financially supports us, and I'm grateful for that. But sometimes I feel like because I'm a stay-at-home mom, I'm expected to be on duty 24/7, while he gets to clock out.
I don't want to feel guilty for wanting time to take care of myself, too.
So, moms, please be honest with me. Am I being ungrateful because he pays the bills and sometimes gives me money? Should I just accept that the household and childcare are my responsibilities? Or is it reasonable to expect him to share some of those responsibilities even though I'm not financially contributing right now?
I genuinely want different perspectives because sometimes I question whether I'm asking for too much or whether my feelings are valid.

Anyone else just feel like they’re failing as a mom?
Yesterday my baby girl had a doctors appointment and my husband had to work so it was just me and her. We went to the dr and everything was great. After the appointment I was hungry so we went to a restaurant. When we parked, she had to be changed and fed. I fed her and changed her in the trunk on the bassinet part of the stroller because my backseat was too cramped and I hate public bathrooms. We’ve never used the bassinet and it had been in the trunk since we got the stroller (before she was born). I was in a pinch so I changed her, put her in the bassinet, and went about my merry way.
Later that evening I tell my husband about that experience and he mentioned how dusty the bassinet must’ve been and I just felt like pure shit after that. He didn’t mean it in a way to attack me or make me feel bad, it was just an observation he made. But I took it as like there was something wrong with me because I didn’t think about how dusty it was, I just needed a place to change her quickly. Since then I’ve just been mentally harping on that thought and feel like I’ve been failing as a parent because I didn’t clean the bassinet before using it.

She’s very active. Loves climbing, running etc. but I’m having trouble when it comes to her playing with her toys or doing activities. She will play with something for maybe 5 minutes and then gets into something she’s not suppose to.. she’s constantly just makes a mess. She’s 26months and has always been like this ever since she was mobile. I was really hoping it would get better the older she got but it’s just more frustrating. I try to redirect her as much as possible but she doesn’t care. Even when I try doing painting or anything she will do it for 5 minutes then make a mess or just leave. I literally can’t cook or make food sometimes cause she’s just making messes or crying for me. Idk.. I try to rotate her toys. Get new ones. But again the interest doesnt last long before she’s off pulling something off a shelf.

How many days have you booked your baby into a nursery per week? I noticed that (because nursery is so bloody expensive) a lot of people put them in 3 days a week, but what do you do on the other two days if both of you are working?? Comment below!
I signed him up for 3 days a week and now panicking as I’m current job hunting and not sure how I can get one that’s 3 days a week.

What side effects did your LO experience when they were teething?
Was refusing either solids or milk one of them?
