I need more support from my partner and he just doesn’t get it. He’ll help out then just go back to not helping. He works all the time. I’m stuck at home. He won’t let me go on a bus and he won’t let the baby go in other people’s cars and I don’t drive. I spend every minute and every day with the baby. He works a lot so when he has a day off all he wants to do is sleep or he says he’s going golfing. Where does my own time fit in? When he does make time for us, most of the time he invites one of his friends. Do you just not want to be around me? I feel like I’m being forgotten about by him and I’m irrelevant. Most of the time he’s the victim in the arguments because when I bring something up that’s upsetting me he turns it around and makes me out to be the bad person of that I’m the cause of everything. I understand that I maybe haven’t been showing up 100% but he struggles to understand the amount of responsibility that lies on me, the house, the baby, chores, remembering appointments etc. He’s suffered with depression so surely he can see that he’s just pushing me further and further away into a depression from his actions. I’ve told my mum I need more support and she is trying to help but as soon as I say oh can we reschedule one day she says that ‘I’m just trying to help and I don’t understand you’

That's so tough, I'm so sorry you are going through that on your own! Not sure how receptive he'd be, but can you sit him down for a talk and fully put how you feel on the table, ask him on a day off for him to spend the day with the baby. He would need to be fully responsible for the full day to have a better understanding of what your day-to-day looks like. And you take that day to go visit with a friend, go to a spa day, or a day yourself doing something just for you. He can't call you to ask how to do something or complain he needs you home if he can't get baby to settle. Maybe even leave him a list of just a few of the main big chores you need to get done daily. It will also give you a day to yourself to step away for your own sanity. And don't forget, you have equal say! He may not want you on a bus or in other people's car, but you have just as much say. If you don't drive then you have to make other arrangements, not fair for him to keep you stuck at home. That for sure will not help anyone's sanity!

It’s hard to hear this… but he won’t get it.
I’m my experience, he would tell me I was being dramatic and way too emotional and then it came. The “I can’t do this anymore”… and just like that, he left. Bc he wants his own life back. Me and the baby just get in the way of ‘his life’. So, yeah. He left …. Divorce papers signed and everything simply bc he had enough.
Anyone else just feel like they’re failing as a mom?
Yesterday my baby girl had a doctors appointment and my husband had to work so it was just me and her. We went to the dr and everything was great. After the appointment I was hungry so we went to a restaurant. When we parked, she had to be changed and fed. I fed her and changed her in the trunk on the bassinet part of the stroller because my backseat was too cramped and I hate public bathrooms. We’ve never used the bassinet and it had been in the trunk since we got the stroller (before she was born). I was in a pinch so I changed her, put her in the bassinet, and went about my merry way.
Later that evening I tell my husband about that experience and he mentioned how dusty the bassinet must’ve been and I just felt like pure shit after that. He didn’t mean it in a way to attack me or make me feel bad, it was just an observation he made. But I took it as like there was something wrong with me because I didn’t think about how dusty it was, I just needed a place to change her quickly. Since then I’ve just been mentally harping on that thought and feel like I’ve been failing as a parent because I didn’t clean the bassinet before using it.

Did anyone feel like it wasn’t the right decision for their family? Our toddler started nursery recently (only 2 days a week), and a few weeks in, I still don’t feel right about it? we technically don’t “need” him to go as one of us is always around, so all I can think about is the time I’m losing with him and honestly makes me feel so sad, and also wonder if there’s something wrong with me as every other mum seems to cope well? I was never really keen on the idea of nursery and it took us 18 months to decide, but I ended up giving in to the pressure that it would be good for him for the social aspect etc, and also the idea of sometime for myself seemed good as well. But now I just feel like the pros are not worth the cons 😭 doesn’t help that our nursery only offers full days, we would love to have the option of just half days twice a week. Also seems like he only enjoys it for a little bit and not the full days 😢😢
Just wondering if anyone can relate!

Hi all! I suffer from cold sores and have had one which I've treated and has gone away. However my 6 month old baby has woken up with this red bit just below his mouth and I'm worried it could be a cold sore! He's well in himself and has recently been teething and discovered biting his thumbs. Could it be from saliva/scratch etc or should I be concerned it's a cold sore?

What porridge is everyone giving to their babies? I was buying the tesco super smooth porridge in the big box but it has been out of stock for weeks! Any recommendations? Have tried normal Quaker Oats but my son prefers the smooth texture. Have also used formula branded porridge but it’s in such a small bag and doesn’t last us long at all. He is 9 months old. Thanks!

How many days have you booked your baby into a nursery per week? I noticed that (because nursery is so bloody expensive) a lot of people put them in 3 days a week, but what do you do on the other two days if both of you are working?? Comment below!
I signed him up for 3 days a week and now panicking as I’m current job hunting and not sure how I can get one that’s 3 days a week.
