I had a connecting flight that I missed at Istanbul sabiha gokcen airport. I got off my domestic flight and had walked and run to the international departures gate, and yet it was closed when I got there. It took soo long because the security lines and passport control lines were so so long! And then my gate was 2 floors down at the very far end. I also had baggage and a stroller, so I had to find the lifts and there would be queues of wheelchair users. After every attempt to get to the gate literally out of breath, it was closed. Maybe missed it by 5 minutes. I found the airline agent desk and they said I need to pay for new tickets which me and several others refused. He then said we would get a refund. I arrived in the UK and made a complaint and asked for my money to be reimbursed as the agent had said. However, customer service are refusing to refund me.
What can I do? Has anyone else been to this airport? How was your experience there? Has anyone else missed a connecting flight? What did you do? I just dont know what to do anymore. The cost of the flights was almost equal to my entire holiday!

If the flights were under one booking the airline should refund you. If it’s two different bookings or two different airlines then you will have to fight your case. Did you have travel insurance ? You could try make a claim with them too

Not at this airport. But the same happened when I transferred through the US. As above was saying Our ticket was one through ticket so they just put us on the next available flight whichever was the next day. We couldn’t claim for compensation or hotels or anything though.
If you had 2 separate tickets they won’t pay as it’s not the airlines fault.

I missed one connection flight once in Heathrow. It was also waiting for the security line to pass through. But my first flight was delayed, so it was the airlines fault. They just put me on the next flight at the counte. If your first flight was on time and it wasn't the airlines fault, then they won't refund it. They always say that for international check-in to arrive 2-3 hours in advance.

Unfortunately unless the flight was delayed then you’re stuck. Passport control and security is down to the airport and nothing to do with the airline.

If you have one ticket then normally you wouldn’t have to go through security again, or collect baggage. All of that is done automatically and you simply walk through the transfers section and go straight to the gate. Atleast that’s the way I’ve always done a layover. If you have to start the whole airport process again then you need minimum 2-3 hours between flights.

Emergency c section PTSD??

I had an emergency c section in January of 2025 with my first baby boy and am now going to have a scheduled c section with my second baby boy in February of 2027 due to my hospital not doing VBACs. I originally wasn’t worried because I knew it was coming this time and I know what to expect. But now that I’m 6 months pregnant I’m scared again. The recovery was rough for me and now worrying about being there for my 2 year old is causing a lot of mom guilt I think. Any moms out there that have any advice or reassurance would be greatly appreciated 😅.

First pregnancy & it’s twins!

Hello I just found out today that I’m pregnant with twins! I’m so shocked and overwhelmed. I had an ultrasound around 3 weeks ago that showed only 1 yolk sac baby.
For my peace of mind I went to an ultrasound clinic today and not only did I see & hear babies heartbeat but now there’s 2 babies!!!!!!

I’m confused how my doctor missed the second baby, and I think I need to find a new doctor.

I need advice & tips, I’m very excited but also very scared.

This is my first ever pregnancy & I just so happened to get twins 🥺

I did have a dream a few weeks ago about having twins but I didn’t think my dream would come true 😭
