People who are rude with kids

I just went to a very distressing situation while collecting a click and collect order at the shopping centre with my 4 years old. Shopping was packed so I had to park quite far from the store and we had to walk a bit. My child was a bit tired, so I was encouraging him to walk so I created a game where he could only walk on the white tiles. At some point he stopped for a few seconds to think where to step and a woman behind him started complaining and being rude. I took him out and said he is just a child, and a man that was with her replied aggressively to me that it's not because he's a child that he can be "mocking around". I froze and could not reply. I wasn't expecting such a rude reaction from two adults over a small child. My son didn't do anything wrong, he stopped for a few seconds, that's all. What if it was an older person, or a person with disabilities? Would they be rude too?
I'm feeling so bad I didn't respond. I should stand for my son, but all I want to do is cry. How can people be so aggressive with a child (and a mother) that did nothing wrong?

Don’t feel bad for not responding. That was probably the right way to handle it. People who are that confrontational to a a complete stranger, let alone a child are people who are looking for people to react so they can bestow their misery with life on someone else. You absolutely did the right thing mama, and your little bubs has every right to be a kid, to h*ll with everyone else, especially the miserable people ❤️

Its better you didnt respond coz fighting gets you no where
And assholes will always be assholes
No matter what age
You did the right thing
Your child seeing you respond wldnt of been a good thing
I have to bite my lip i live in a unit block of 6
Next to me is a young couple (30s)
Anyway she is a total bitch ,real stuck up wont look at you, wont say hi,walks in the opposite direction if you walk towards her ,we've bumped into her at the local park she basically stomped off ,my son said why did she do that ,i just said some ppl are assholes ( not like that of course ) .now i tell him just keep away .
She's getting hers now 🤣😤🤣 she's made enemies of the neighbours that live behind her ,so nothing to do with me ,but iv had the council knock on my door because of a " complaint " I know nothing ,dont wanna know ,i didn't give a lot of information coz i dont know shit, but someone did come screaming on the unit block to do with them

They're likely living very unhappy lives, and only know how to spread misery. You were spreading joy by motivating your son to keep going with a game, that's like poison to them, or sunlight on a vampire, so id wish them a better life and then let it go, because i honestly feel their reaction had nothing to do with you or your son

Need advice 😢

My little boy is 1, turned 1 on Tuesday. He’s always eaten amazing; everything we have given him; loads of fruit and veg; home made stuff; porridge etc, never had anything with salt or sugar. On Monday we went to soft play and as a treat along with all the other children I let him try chicken nuggets and chips with a bit of ice cream and his birthday cake. After we got home we had a buffet and I let him try some different stuff there, a tiny amount of chocolate, like a quarter if that of sausage roll etc. Nothing was in massive amounts just enough for a bite and a taste.
Tuesday and Wednesday he was sick quite a bit, but assumed it was from the soft play as he was putting the plastic balls and toys in his mouth, he was having milk fine but gone off his food.
Fast forward to today he has been having milk absolutely fine but been off food completely, and has been crying and whinging non stop from morning till night (literally, morning until night non stop). Have been giving calpol and nurofen when his been at his worst but his just not his self at all and I’m getting worried.
I feel like an awful, shit mum for letting him have these foods as his so young, I just thought for his first birthday for a treat he could try something. Now I’m scared because I’ve done this it may be linking to why he’s not eating his healthy meals I’m making, he won’t even touch his porridge and is having tiny sips of water throughout the day. Have I ruined his eating? Is it just a bug? I don’t know how long they last but we were doing so well and now I feel like I’ve ruined him and it’s all my fault 😢😔😭

Weaning advice

Hi just looking for a few tips around weaning, my daughter is a little over 5 months and looking to start weaning from 6 months. My understanding is that I should start with 1 meal a day and formula as normal otherwise and then this can increase to 2 meals by 7 months. My questions are … what meal should I start with? The book I’m reading suggests lunch but then I’m aware I will be doing it all and my husband will miss it all due to work? Also do I just do purées to start with? Some things suggest jusy purées, others say to give a food 3 ways straight away eg pureed and mashed and in sticks and also I’ve seen porridge mentioned a lot?? Sorry just a bit confused and want to do it properly ! Also any big tips generally ?? Thanks so much :)

🗓️ A Day in the Life of a Stay-at-Home Mom –

Hi everyone! I have a question. I’m a first-time mom, and my baby is 5 months old.

I’m a stay-at-home mom, so I spend most of my day at home with my baby. I’m curious about what a typical day looks like for other moms who stay at home with their little ones.

What’s your daily routine like? What kinds of activities do you do with your babies? How often do you breastfeed? Do you follow a set schedule, or do you mostly follow your baby’s cues and needs?

I’m also new to American culture, and I’d love to learn more about how American moms approach raising their children. Do you have a routine for everything, or do you just go with the flow?

I’d really love to hear about your everyday experiences! ❤️
