What does everyone drink during pregnancy?

I usually drink different teas all day such as peppermint, fruit, green etc. Just spoken to a midwife who said I should only be having 2 a day! When it gets colder, I really just struggle to drink water! Is it just me or am I being awkward? 😂

If its a hot drink you are after would hot lemon and honey cut it for you?
I am all about fresh pineapple juice I have restricted it as I could drink it all day every day

They're probably just concerned about the caffeine content. As long as it's decaffeinated, I'm sure your teas are fine.

The only herbal tea I was told to moderate was liquorice. No other advice on herbal teas at all. I would have thought that it was better to drink these than be dehydrated

I drink tea about 2-3 times a day. Was never told not too😅 I also crave Lucozade orange (fizzy).... I shouldn’t but I do, I love it !

I was struggling with water as well and my midwife suggested sugar free squash. I love robinsons orange with loads of ice. Fanta zero and diet lemonade have really quenched my thirst too x

Hot water with lemon, ginger and honey?

Avatar

I’ve heard that white tea and twig tea have a lower caffeine content than black and green teas, so that might be nice to mix into your daily intake. I’ve been enjoying fruit juices mixed with seltzer water for a refreshing beverage and peppermint and ginger teas for cozy beverages.

Hey! I’ve lived off cups of tea for the last 9 month, the caffeine content is much lower than coffee but I bought decaf Yorkshire tea to be on the safe side 😊 xx

Red raspberry leaf tea

I’ve discovered sugar free squash with cold sparkling water that’s refreshing and a way of having water that’s a bit more exciting x

Craving milk and milkshakes.. Lots of it!

I drink a lot of squash which I never do when not pregnant as I always drink just water but for some reason when pregnant I struggle with it. I drink peppermint tea too. I don’t think peppermint tea has caffeine so I can’t see why u can’t drink that too often? X

Your teas that are caffine free are fine.Im a tea drinker too, all types too! Which were fine, only one I avoided was liquorice. think she may of been referring to your standard tea.

I wasn’t enjoying water at first but now am actually loving it I drink so much water and vimto juice xx

Sparkling water 😂 a little more fun than just plain ole water

Avatar

Water and about 10 cups of decaf tea a day 😂

Avatar

I’ve been drinking a lot of Tetley Redbush tea as its caffeine free and tastes almost like regular black tea... if not I drink water or 7up free/7up cherry as they are also caffeine free

Avatar

The whole 2 cups per day thing is meant as a guide for caffeine, so non caffeinated herbal teas should be fine unless she specifically said no to those.

Maternity allowance

Hi guys! So I am currently on maternity leave with my boy and pregnant again, my maternity leave is almost over (I took the full 52 weeks off) so I am due back work soon! I have just had an email saying I’m not eligible for statuary maternity pay again and they are sending me a form to apply for maternity allowance! I would only be back at work for approx 6-8 weeks before going on maternity again! So I thought I would use my holidays instead of actually going back but the manager has actually refused them. What I’m wondering is, if I was to hand in my notice, would I still technically be eligible for maternity allowance and get the full amount or would it be the £27 a week? Because if I did do that, then they would obviously still have to pay me my holidays that I’m entitled to?

Change of religion when married.. advice please!

Hi all, my husband has very recently and out of the blue turned to Christianity (we were atheist). I’ve been super supportive, we’re speaking a lot about it, I’m reading the bible to understand. To be clear I don’t have an issue with it at all (I went to a Christian school, just wouldn’t say I’ve found Jesus myself 🤷🏼‍♀️).
I just wondered if anyone has been in a similar situation? What if I can’t come to the same conclusion and we end up not being of the same religion?

Really hoping someone’s gone through similar and may give me an idea of how it turned out please 🙏
