I am finding many staff issues in two three daycare I been to. They say 4 teachers for infant room so one is spare incase 1:3 ratio needs help but then i find always only 3 teachers. Also out of 3 there is always one or two missing or going on lunch breaks and covered by employee from other dept, often not trained. 1:3 ratio often is exhausted teacher and you can see they are never talking to kids or making them laugh or anything during lunch time or nappy changes etc. Only during activity time something. Is this normal?

I totally agree with your concerns but it’s a systematic issue. It needs a massive overhaul! It’s horrible
Yes, you think we are paying so kids are getting all the good care but just spend half day there and you see how each teacher really is work wise. There is tussle between teachers on who is working how much, infants are lifted wrong way (pulling by hand) from crib, diapers are changed forcefully, food is shoved in mouth. Don't even start on nap time frenzy. We as a parent only get to see teachers smiling faces during pick-up n drop off and some good updates on their apps. But the employees are exhausted and they do take out on kids by neglecting, letting them cry under name of self soothing and everything is mechanical handling of kids. I am so discouraged looking this in now 3rd place that i don't have any options left to move my baby and by now i know it will be similar in other place too :(
