Hello,
I don't know whether it is just me with hormones (25 weeks pregnant) or whether my feelings are valid.
So long story but since having our first child 20 months ago my husband and I have barely spent any quality time together as we have no family near by to support us. Our LO now goes to nursery. We discussed it and decided to take the day off together today and have a date day. Like proper quality time. Last night he tells me he wants to go and get his hair done today so I said fine. That usually takes an hour or so. Then this morning he says he needs to clean the cars (this is usually a half day job as he waxes them etc)
I said 'do you have to do that today?' And he has literally gone off on one saying he can't do anything and never gets time to himself. I got upset then because this was supposed to be a day for us to go and do something together. He told me I am being ridiculous.
Am I??? It doesn't feel it but maybe I'm just pregnant and sensitive. :/

You said you made it clear the idea was to have a date day. And then he proceeds to spend it doing anything but spend quality time with you. You are 100% right to feel the way you do! I would say to him, the whole idea of the day was to spend time together and you've done x y and z and none of that is quality time
@April that is exactly what I said this morning. I told him my idea of what today was going to be and explained that that was why I was upset and he said I was being ridiculous. Anyway it's good to hear that someone else would feel the same way ❤️
@Christine ahh I wish we could do that. My husband works 6 days a week and we have no family local to look after our little one so one of us always has to be here. I used to exercise every day but haven't done it for months due to time constraints now I am back at work 😞. That is something I really miss. I have to take a day off work to get my hair done etc so like you, it is a rarity now. I love the time with our LO. I look forward to the weekend just to have him to myself on Saturday. We always have such a nice day. I don't get any me time really. I haven't even been out with a friend now for about 15 months. So never see anyone anymore.
I was really looking forward to today to spend some quality time together and it put a real dampener on things for me. We have talked about it and looked forward to it for almost a month now. Making plans about what we might do etc.
He just didn't get why I was upset. We are ok now though. He came and apologised, gave me a cuddle and because I wanted to enjoy the day..
I let it go x
