Nap transition

What time is your LOs naps and how long do they nap?

My 16 month old is in the transition from 2 to 1 nap and it's tricky as I have to pick up my first daughter from nursery at 12pm and it's often that I have to wake up LO at 12 to get ready. At the moment she naps from 10am to 12pm but then she won't have a 2nd nap anymore.
If i didnt have to wake her she would probably sleep 2.5-3 hours which would be a good lunch time nap but not sure if she should be awake all afternoon without nap and how early should I put her to bed then... I'm out if ideas! 😅

My LO is on one nap now most days. He wakes at 7am has a nap around 1130-130 then bed anywhere between 7-8. It’s very rare he has 2 naps unless he falls asleep in the car on the way to the childminder (30 minute drive)
Do you have to drive to pick up your daughter? If not, I’d probably be inclined to let her nap in her pram x

We are mainly on one nap but the time changes every day. Yesterday she got up at 9, we went for a walk, had lunch and got back about 1. I then put her down for her nap about 1:50 and slept till about half 3 and went to bed gone 8pm last night. Today she got up about 8am and has already had her nap which was 12-1pm so i know shell be a ratty mess around 4/5 but no way ill let her nap now. Hopefully be an early bedtime. So all depends when your little one is waking up, could you maybe hold off the nap till after lunch/picking daughter up from nursery? X

Our son transitioned to 1 nap at 13 months. His routine is

Wake 7am
Awake 4h
Nap 11am till 1/1.30pm
Awake 5h30m
Bedtime 6.30/7pm

We use wake windows rather than fixed times.

Ours has had one nap for several months now (she dropped the 2nd very early) and her schedule is roughly as follows

Wake at 7:30
Nap at 12ish for 1-2h (sometimes she'll go down around 11, sometimes not until 2pm)
Bedtime 8-8:30, sometimes later depending on when and for how long she naps.

My son transitioned to 1 nap about 13 months as well. He’s up at 7.30-8 ish, nap at 11.30-2 or so, then back to bed at 7.30. Good as gold for naps (for which we know we’re really lucky!)

We recently changed from 2 naps to one, he was going down at 9.30 & 2.30 but we changed the following:
Wake 6.30
Nap 12/12.30 anywhere from 1.5-2.5hrs
Bed 6/6.30 depending on the legth or nap.
I was surprised how well he handled the long wake window between waking up and his lunchtime nap. I find we have to keep busy with an activity and snacks in the morning to get him through to 12ish. But if he needs to go down at 11.30 I’ll get him down early

When she transitioned she napped from 11-1pm but i sometimes put her down after 12 and she naps until after 2pm and bed at 7pm. Lunch is before midday nap. She also wakes up between 7 and 8 am

@Imogen it's only a 5 min walk but if she would fall asleep in the buggy, I couldn't leave her there as we live in a 2nd floor flat. She always wakes up when I take her out the buggy so she would get a max half hour nap then 🤔

@Izzie ours is similar at the moment, first nap is between 9:30 and 10 as she often wakes up at 6am. She still struggles to make it later than 10am for her nap but then if she does sleep for 2 hours, she doesn't want a 2nd nap later anymore

My LB is on one nap now. He’ll wake between 7/8am then nap at about 11.30/12 for about 2/3 hours and then he goes to bed at around 8pm

8 week immunisations

My 8 week old has his first set of injections tomorrow and I’m abit nervous. Does anyone have any advice for after the jabs? I know they get a temp after so have got some calpol to give just before hand. Should I put him to bed in less clothing to make sure he doesn’t get too hot? Any tips from your experience with first set of immunisations? Am I worrying more than I need to? 😅

Signs of Neurodivergent Toddler

Any moms of neurodivergent toddlers who could help me out? My son is 13 months old. I know that is technically too early for a diagnosis, but I have a gut feeling that he is on the autism spectrum.

The main sign he shows is hand leading. He does not point at all, and instead will take my hand and lead me anywhere he wants to go,
getting very frustrated if I do not follow.

He is also extremely sensitive to being touched, especially when it comes to hats and putting clothes on. He won’t let anything touch his head or face and I have to fight him to brush his teeth, comb his hair, etc.

He’s very interested in things that aren’t toys and will repeat the same behavior over and over. He can go in and out of doors or walk up and down stairs for hours. He loves taking things out of containers and putting the back in repeatedly.

We recently took him on his first vacation and he REALLY struggled with the change. He struggles with any type of transition or change in routine.

He laughs, makes eye contact, mostly responds to his name, but doesn’t do any other gestures.

Normal toddler behavior or signs of ASD? Let me know your thoughts!

11 month old constantly standing in cot

Please tell me someone has some advice for this cause wow it’s trying. My almost 11 month old is fully on the move now and his new favourite thing is repeatedly pulling to stand in his cot. The problem is that he wears a sleep sack (mainly so his legs don’t get stuck between the bars tbh lol) so he’s not stable enough to lower himself down. So earlier he fell backwards and hit is head and now we feel like we can’t just leave him to it. Typically it’s his first full day at nursery tomorrow and my first day back at work IT’S LIKE HE KNOWS!!
Please tell me someone has some tips. Currently we are quietly placing him back on his back every time but he just keeps doing it! 🤣🤡

Bedtime

What time are you getting your LOs down for the night now and how are you finding bedtime? We’ve had the sane routine since my daughter was a few weeks old - bath with her older sister and 6.45, followed by a bottle and ideally in bed by 7.30. This worked at first but over the last few weeks she’s been fighting it a lot and, with the exception of a few days last week which were a lot easier, it’s a bit of a battle to get her down and features a lot of screaming and resettling. Not sure if we are putting her down too early or late? Her last nap is usually a cat nap (30-45 mins) and finishes by 6. She’s pretty good at settling herself from a night feed, but seems to be unable to do it at bedtime, even with her dummy.
